Leveling search skill from rank 3?

General Discussion
The last time I levelled up my search skill it was by digging gold nuggets in North America West, but I'm not there yet. I'm trying to level up so I can search for shipwright saws, but since I'm at level 3 now, digging rocks won't give me any points. Where do I go from here to level up? thanks in advance!

    I was thinking of the Med for Bamboo Brooms, Shipwright Saws and Shipwright Hammers in that order. Should see you to R10. And give some saleable items.

    You can get berries and it you7 have travelers storage book  procure and you can also collect vegetable oil and use the berries to rank storage and use search for other stuff. It is worth the try

    You know why when someone starts a post sooner or later alts are mentioned when it has nothing to do with the post.     Get an Art skill (the Adventure one, not Art Trading), then go to Marseilles Archives. Get the R1 (or later, R2) Map of Religious Painting and sails to Genoa. Repeat this for quick Search rank up to R3.
    Later (or now), you want to switch into Naples R3 Map of Marble Statue of Men to rank up to R5.

    The best way to raise search is through adventure quests and also doing maps, just looking in a map is extremely slow.

    i mean as just looking a map just executing search command,  for doing a map i mean go into a scholar and use a adventure skill (best are archeo,teo,art,appraisal) and get a map from there, then go to specific map and look in the pointed location.

    Hmmm, this discussion seemed to get off track a bit while I wasn't paying atttention. Anyhoo, thanks to Ace for the mention of the Calais outskirts, my search is once again gaining points, very slowly but still it's something. As for how fast you could raise search in North America hunting gold nuggets - very fast. I didn't even have search before I started working on that nugget contest, started with base rank 1 and about +4 worth of boosters, after a couple of weeks I was at base rank 9.

    Obviously first chose a job that favours search, but then do yourself a favour and go invest in Capetown, they sell a +2 search accessory (amongst other things)
    Search will work better the higher you can get it, so wear your adventure exam clothes from the school as well as the instructors staff, which each give you +1
