I remember the days of the UWOPOLICE. They were in the game just to make sure that players followed the rules. If someone was abusing chat, they would give that player a warning and then if the warning didn't take effect, mute the player. If a gold spammer showed up, they would mute that player.
The other thing that i liked about the UWOPOLICE was them enforcing the naming rules.
Players are starting to realize that you are not monitoring the servers much. I have seen some very graphic names in the game. I have also seen graphic Company names.
It is disgusting to realize that some of you, think this is funny to purposefully make character names which are a direct violation of the game rules. You should realize that there are players who have their young children watching the game, or maybe they themselves are young and are being supervised by their parents during game play. Those parents and children enjoy this game for the historical content as well as the crafting system and other things. They do not join the game to read you swearing at others in the game, making abusive company names and making abusive character names or even abusive ship names.
My suggestion is quite simple and will piss off those who feel it is funny to do these things. Break out the BAN HAMMER!!!!
If a player makes a name that abuses the naming policy when they create their character, a company, a ship's name or even their player shop, ban their accounts and make them start over. It would be pretty easy for the admin to figure out what account was doing the abuse and what other accounts come from the same computer. It might take a day, a week, or even a month, but when the server admin figures out who these abusers are and what accounts they use, they should bring down the BAN HAMMER and ban all that players accounts. Make them start over.
Yes, this is a game played by many adults but there are also children present and people need to follow the rules, if not, ban them. That is my suggestion. If they think that they are immune because they buy UWC, make an example of them by not only banning them from the game, but making an in game announcement that will last for 24 hours which will inform the server that a player has been banned for naming abuses. This will stop them from thinking it is okay or that they won't get punished.
That was the problem with the old servers. People made characters with abusive names and the GM forced them to change them to something else.
