This game could use a massive overhaul like when Guild Wars created Guild Wars 2. You have a great product here already but you could do a few things, some big, some small, to make it even better.
!) Update the graphics. Make it beautiful like Black Desert or Guild Wars 2 or Eve Online or have you seen Fractured Space? That game doesn't use much in resources but it look beautiful.
2) Mini-quests. How about random events that pop up for single player like gathering lost cargo to return to a merchant for a prize (for example) or a big boss fight for all the players in the area to participate in?
3) Clip off some of the flotsam like we didn't need cannon 18's. That was just someone at OGPlanet that probably wasn't a gamer or didn't play this game for sure.
4) More diversity in the outfits and colors for the ships. How about a bonus income during times of war for members of a nations navy as well as mercenaries who participate in battles? There could also be special flags and more sail designs and collectible inks to paint flags and outfits. How about an ability to make our own designs for our sails possibly?
You see, the great thing about GW2 was that they took everything that was awesome about the fantasy MMO's and dumped all the garbage and now Arenanet has a great product. You could do that with this game too if you were willing to put the time and effort into it. You probably won't post this because I mentioned all those other games but I really want you to start a discussion about what you could do to really create something fantastic here.
