My question is.. if someone has bought an illegal item and it is deleted, what is fair compensation.
1. releasing an action update will do nothing to compensate someone who bought an illegally created item in good faith and will find it deleted soon.
2. the amount of game time wasted due to being beaten by players who had illegally created items is not focussing on the fact that players who bought an illegally created item in good faith will find it deleted soon.
Can I PLEASE ask you to stay on topic?
Papaya team are considering how to compensate any player affected by the recent issues and I am creating this thread so players can give their opinions to help Papaya give the players what they think is fair.
This is your chance to give them advice that they may take on board, don't waste it
Do you think players will stay if their stuff gets deleted? There’s so much of those gears in circulation now. A lot of them are also not even +10. So if they deleted three they’re just adding more fuel to the fire. What they can do is fix the damn game plug the holes for hackers not to mess with again. Hire GMs that can actually perform their job other than coming to the forums and raging because players accused them and blame them for their mess. It’s stupid to think that they will compensate you and your friends. I doubt that’ll will happen.
When you take into consideration that 95% of the illegally made gear has not been sold on the "public market", you may rethink your idea about compensation.
We've seen +10 Helpyron Gear on the Market, you may wonder who's selling it ? Somebody who has recently been banned.
I also do not think people who have bought Unique Deux, Modresh, Bat Cat Eggs should get compensated at all. Players who have unknowingly purchased "illegally made" items and actually paid with other ingame items / DIL should get compensated, unfortunately this is rarely the case.
The second announcement regarding this matter has been posted by Waldo -
"We are continuing to investigate this issue thoroughly so that all accounts/IPs/MIDs that are directly involved with the hacking will be permanently banned, and that none of the accounts that were wrongly accused will be further impacted. "
They'll need more time, trying to solve this issue is surely not as easy as it seems to be but it shouldn't even have happened in the first place.
