Well, here we are, back again to the full circle.  When it comes down to it I agree wholeheartedly with people wanting to quit.. I was one of the Veterans of the game that did not see a point in just walking away.. Where exactly is Papaya actually doing anything for us?
Please, in 3 months where have things gotten better?  
Toss some cash at us and we are all good? NO.. sorry I don't think that's right.  Also, I gave them *Papaya* the benefit of the doubt that things would not repeat, that the server would balance.  No, it's more like they just swept things under the preverbal carpet and walked ontop trying to smooth it out!  Ya, hmm that don't work!  It also does not keep us or won't keep NEW payers involved in this game to not have special events.  Events like spring event, the easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, YEAR anniversary * which btw I can't honestly say I will be sticking around ONE more month for the rubbish that we have been handed.. I honestly wish you all the best of luck in your game adventures and fair winds I am out.  Cannot continue to support some company that has no value in the real players here and continues to screw them over.  To the Veterans that did stick and continue hats off I cant do it anymore enjoy your game :) btw HUGS to all our wonderful friends Bear family signing out.

    My estimation is 6 months after their relaunch. Might be shorter, not likely possible longer. My words and advise for game publishers/developers are always gold. They don't have much time left.

    Sorry to see you go, but looks like we've got lots of replacements. There seems to be 10 times as many people participating in the ship race compared to last time. On gama I could usually finish in the top 10-20 out of 200 or so participants - this last race I'm currently number 219 of 1700 and something. Quite a difference. It sucks that there are a lot of old farts that can't do the grind again and are leaving, but this server seems to be doing just fine. Good luck in the next phase of your life!

    1700 participants - wow, that's a lot. And presumably it's not 550 people towing around Alts!!

    Those are the first real figures I've seen about player numbers in UWO.

    That's a big wake-up call to all the doom-sayers on this forum.

    If they want the game they hosted to be successful, just do the job properly. "Advertisement" is not the solution, and it will not solve anything at all. I believe a lot of old players are willing to help, why don't they just receive our help?

    1700 is a lot of enters. But that is not 1700 people. Each time a person tries the race it counts. Could be 1 guy racing 1700 times.
    Still it got a lot of tries so I hope that means the population is strong.

    Sorry to see the mediocre publisher pissed off another good customer...

    Botters, farmers and cheaters gradually replace good paying players. We have quite a problem here.

    Papaya never promised to make the game better. 

    They promised some changes - and they delivered them. They promised to publish the game - and we're playing it.

    Blaming Papaya is like blaming guns for people getting shot. It's the way some people (the botters, farmers and cheaters) exploit the game that you need to complain about. And the publisher's are always running to catch-up with them.

    We've just been given another month-long, global 100% boost. Papaya loses out on that 'cos it's not selling boosts now from the cash shop. My opinion is Papaya has given us a lot in order to help us re-establish 'the world'.

    And no I'm not being paid to say that!

    All the power to you for being able to continue playing the game regardless of the wipe, the increasing pay to win, everything else and still be able to enjoy it. That's great, I wish I could join you but I can't and I sincerely tried. I sincerely tried to give UWO another shot after the wipe but I can't do it anymore. It's more the same crap under OGP but this time there really is nothing keeping us here, there is no incentive. No sunk cost fallacy to keep me tied to this game. 

    The people in this forum have more than made valid points to why these pvp changes have increased the pay to win aspect and the things they didn't cover at all. They had a perfect chance to fix it with the reset, papaya chose not to, for whatever the reason. That's their prerogative but I don't have to take the shtick anymore either.

    However, The breaking points for me was quite simple. They started selling a chance to get our old event items back, you know the ones we used to get from Holiday events. We were long playing people. Some of those things had sentimental value to us. It marked exactly how Papaya were gonna run this game. This isn't covering the fact that they've got predatory captain tickets or the fact they've power crept to selling level 70-80 ships in tickets 3 months in, regardless of whether or not the server was at the point it could handle that. 

    Also, In regards to "replacements" do you know how many new players UWO can chew through? This is an old school game with a heck of a grind not to mention the floor cost of even being somewhat competitive. It's a heck of a churn rate. If you're burning through your "old farts" quicker then you can rope new blood, That doesn't leave UWO in a great position considering how big and complex this game is.

    I sincerely wish those who stay on and endure in this game all the world of luck and fair winds, I sincerely do but don't laugh from your captain's quarters while there are several large holes below the decks that affect the entire ship that is UWO. There are real problems, I sincerely hope Papaya gives them the attention they need before it's too late but at this point, my gut tells me that Papaya just wants to cash out before the ship goes under.

    I still play the game, although in a way that i appreciate much less. I used to enjoy pvp after spending 5 years to perfect my toon. I do not have other 5 years to waste. So i play on reselling and adventuring. I am simply here to witness another prosperity of UWO, or the end of the age of voyages. I am curious.

    I suggest whoever feel quitting, to stay. Critcise if you must, play if you feel fancy about it. Our presence will be the hope if UWO. Papaya is just another temporary host among the many. Do not care about it too much. It’ll bankrupt in half a year. There will be a better publisher next time, hopefully.

    Good thing is that we now have nothing to lose, and hence nothing to fear. Play what you want, say what you must and dont give a damn to Papaya.

    hi I am not sure where to post this. I was a long time player but was away because of health  problems. I  come back transfer my account but my old account is gone. why can't I get my ship items and money my account seems to be gone. why??????

    Even if you transfer your accounts they did a wipe so all is gone. We all had to start over

    You may get founder reward if you link your OGP ID with Papaya account. But it is rather tiny comparing to your old ships / items.

    Terrible to hear you're quitting mate... as former co-mate you've helped me a lot by giving me that national colony sheet list. It helped me a lot to develop Willemstad for everyone.

    In my opinion they've underestimated UWO a lot in perspective and the weight of this game. Ever since the wipe, the worst part is lack of developments which restrict many features which were usually accessible in GAMA.

    I was about to relax in GAMA after achieved a lot of milestones in UWO, but now this reset caused us to grind all over again. The worst thing is that we over-grind that some players even goes under "burn-out" due having so many lists to go through.

    Speaking of shiprace, 1700 participants are indeed also including number of times you've joined along with alts. Besides in GAMA we had few shipraces that contained over the 2000 of it so in terms of game population I don't see much difference in it.

    I still hope in the future that there are ways to fix up the mess we currently have in Maris.

    Again, you will be missed mate and it was great to have you in UWO. I hope you return someday ^_^

    Recently we had the boot bug... everyone had it happen, the game would kick us off for no reason. We also have the world chat bug where you can not block someone without forfeiting the rights to use world chat. Also, they claim to be enforcing the multi-boxers but I have personally seen 2 groups of 3 with similar names sailing from EA to EU... sure, they are only in groups of 3 (not 5) but the names are almost identical... like UWO1, UWO2, UWO3 etc., etc

    I played for many years. Started in asia server, moved to Gpotato, then Netmarble, OGP and even steam.... now we are here.... yesx, it sucks big time that we had to start over. What sucked even worse is hearing how some people were getting more founder's rewards and others were getting less. After spending tens of thousands of dollars in the game over the years, I was disgusted with the amount of founder's rewards I got... people who had only played for 6 or 7 years got more then I did... but I didn't complain about it (until now that is)....

    But with these new bugs showing up, with the things that we had in gama missing, and the constant d/c and crashes... I am considering stopping as well.... Papaya might now care right now, but when they lose the monthly income I am giving them, then they will get the picture. If more people stop buying UWC, maybe they will fix the issues, bring the game back to it's glory days on gama and make this game strong again.

    It doesn't matter to me directly because if I quit playing, I still have my original asian account. I'll just go back to that and forget about this.

    Totally agree the bugs and DC's are destroying this game more than anything else especially multis. The next patch should be the koei better fix all the bugs and crap wrong with the game patch...If players cant login or talk because of bugs they lose money. Even if the game goes down for like 3 days to fix it FINE because I rather have a fully functional game than play in a broken one.

    I never thought in the 12 years of playing this game that I would ever say it, but I am done with this game. I am done supporting it. I am done spending money in it. I am done helping others. I am done.

    These last few days I have met some of the rudest players in any on-line game. You people should be ashamed. You treat others with disrespect. You Lie to others for fun. You scam people everyday. I am sick of it all.... Papaya doesn't enforce the rules in dealing with racism or discrimination, so to hell with papaya.

    I am quitting the game. So if you see LadyCatarina come in the game, it's not me... I quit.

    But yet in another post you said you was making a company with no discrimination except if you are under 18 and you stated in the past you was quitting if you quit that is on you. But don't try and blame others for you leaving. We all wish you well and sail safe into what you do in the future and happy holidays

    I dont think lady knows what discrimination is based off what she was saying in trade today lol.But needsless to say  one less drama queen in trade if she does quit.

    2 things 


     1. If you're quitting because people are racist and rude then be prepared to quit any online game or organization because you will NEVER get away from people like this.

     2. This is Papaya first casualty to the dumb world chat bug. This situation is so easy to resolve just block the person… oh wait you can't or your world chat is disabled. Papaya any news on the world chat bug or are more players going to quit

    I get a feeling ladycatrina has a short fuse with the posts she has put up recently.

    From here picture she looks like a mature professional lady and is probably dealt with very respectfully in the real world, but in game your just another person and another set of pixels. So you will be treated the same as us all.

    I’ve never had any of the problems you mention, maybe you have been unfortunate.

    But also maybe your expectations or the way you have spoke with some could of brought this on you?

    I’m not saying this as fact, just a possibility, because from your posts they portray you as impatient and demanding and stroppy.
