The Gamers of the West

I spent a lot of effort in game structure analysis. There are a lot things I have yet to know, to learn, I may not be on the top of the list who understand gaming the best, but still, I am very good in it.

The games developed from the West, and the games developed from the East, share a huge difference. This great suggest the preference between the gamers from the West and the East, is not the same.

Games that comes from the East, always comes with heavy grinding. Grinding in games, means a gamer is willing to spend a lot of time to achieve the highest level of a certain feature in game.

Games that comes from the West, always comes with heavy in-game experiences. Adventuring, exploring, experience what the game has to offer. Gamers from the west enjoys that a lot.

To me, games hosted in the East are usually ending up a fail game. Grinders takes a lot of time, in order to save time, that encourage multiboxing. Alts, bots, third party programs, filling the game that makes it no purpose to play it at all.

The gamers of the West, are not grinders such as the East. Papaya is the only host of uwo in the west region. Don't make the game into grinding, I am afraid you are going to the dead end that you can't see even after I pointed out for you.

Make the game into an alt-free environment. Just take my advice, don't hesitate.

Like i said, Papaya’s plan is to reap short term benefit by letting impatient westners spend their last dollar on power items before passing the ball to a next publishers.

“East” players (omg such a generalization, forgive me) respond well by exploiting whatever they could to avoid spending money while having whatever fun they could savage before hopping to another fail game, because they assume shift between government is just norm. “West” players tend to spend heavily presuming that the game would last forever because they are rich and comfortable and tend to take granted statis quo should everlast.

Papaya and other Korean operators like OGP know this too well. They pretend they are running a long term business so those “West” ppl (including a lot of asians from east) will stupidly spend like addiction, before they got fitched like used whore (sorry for my indecent analogy here).

We as a community need to say no to this kind of exploits from an ill purposed publisher like Papaya.

We can demand sub based business model while all together refuse to spend a single dollar. In a few weeks we’ll bring Papaya to its knee so that they’ll reconsider their approach.

@JustToTalk how could you make UWO into a game without grinding?

The whole game is about grinding. It's grinds within grinds. Within grinds. Everything you do requires you to do something else first. And then repeat it. Continuously.

Take that away and it's no longer UWO.

Interesting question though as to whether there is a cultural difference in game preferences. But then again, UWO is a grinding game and you are from the 'west', and you are playing it. May be I don't understand your point.

The PO is an ‘east’ player even though he comes from west. ‘West’ players spend thousands of dollars per month and would risk divorce just to stay ahead by p2w. ‘East’ players on the other hand grind and farm to survive without paying too much.

UWO could be slightly better than ever grinding. In my 7 years uwo career, i spent the last three years purely enjoying a few well grinded toons with top of the line ships. I had my glory, fun and friendship. So in a way it can be better than a grinding game.

Papaya choose to turn it into grinding oriented once again for its own gain. That makes the east players to think whether it is grind worthy, and west players to think, whether it is a secure investment.

On the other hand, a few grinders have found their heaven. New progress to make etc.

Depending who you are, you may like or dislike it.

West players spend time enjoying the game.

East players spend time on the forum complaining over and over.

    We can all generalise
