Help! Can't get Far North Ocean job from Mercator

I've got one toon where I've already got the far north ocean permit, plus panama canal and suez, and I can take the quest for the far west to open up SF. But on my other toon I can't get mercator to give me the job to chart the far north ocean (fram strait etc). This toon is at level 51 adventure with 29K adventure fame, graduated from several schools and I've charted 66 other sea regions already. But I still can't do the far north atlantic and I can't figure out what I missed. Any ideas?

    It sounds like all you're missing is the East Asia permit.

    But I also can't get the west coast of south america permit to do that chain. Something is missing before that.

    West Coast of Latin America comes before Panama Canal and Suez Canal. So if you indeed have the canals you already have that permit. All you need to do is East Asia as mentioned above.

    The alt in question does not have suez or panama, southeast asia is as far as he's gotten. As I mentioned, I am unable to get the quest for west coast of south america to show up and do not have access to panama. but do you really have to do panama and have all that to do the far north sea?

    Strange that you can't get the west coast of America quest. That's the Rio IQ isn't it? I did the delivery of tonic to the Peru land area.

    Def remember not doing the North East/ North West passage until after completing all sea charting. They were later updates.

    I missed that you were talking about an alt. East Asia is required to proceed with the Northeastern passage. I mean after all it was in an effort to discover a new route to East Asia.....

    If the Rio de Janeiro consul says you can't do it, then you don't have Southeast Asia IQ completed and turned in yet. That is about the only thing that will block you from getting that one, also quite possibly high notoriety.

    to make the quest from rio you have to finish SEA quest from calicut first then you need to start the circumnavigation quest to gain australia. After this you can do rio quest.
    you need to finish all port permi quest for est asia before can do the north passage and th north west american( san Francisco area)

    SEA is what you missed, which unlocks Rio. And do not forget to enter panama before you retirn from west coast, or you cannot do panama canal after Rio.

    You can't enter Panama before you obtain W coast of Latin America permit. So you would have to complete the WCLA quest - return to rio to report - report in your home country - discover panama (and portobelo if you haven't) - and then take an IQ from Santiago.

    There is no reason for North Passage to exists if you don't have the permits for the lands your trying to reach which said passage, as such i am pretty certain there is no far north without EA permits.

    After you have EA you talk to Mercator and he gives you "West Coast of North America" permit, and only then does the far north quests start.

    as far as i remember you don't need to do SF quest just have the permit for "West Coast of North America"

    oh right you do need to go to your country palace and then Seville to get Australia Permits before WCLA.

    I think this alt is stuck in a loop somewhere. he has the oceana permits, can go to australia, anbon & ternate, etc, but still can't go to west coast of South america. But, all the royal quests are for the east coast of south america, which I already have the permits for. I did one for east south america again and went back to report, still the same quests show up.

    To be sure, your alt has tried to get the west coast imperial from Rio and there's no quests offered?

    Wes,where are you trying to get the WCLA IQ from?Sounds like ,maybe,you are looking at wrong location

    ECLA is from home port
    SEA  from Calicut
    WCLA from Rio de Janero
    Panama Canal  from Santiago
    Suez Canal from Home port
    East Asia from Manila

    Wes, i think what your Alt needs is a complete server reset. That would probably solve the problem. And none of us would mind this time because at least we'd know it was for a good reason.
