Best battle ship from captain's tickets so far?

WesDoobnerWesDoobner Posts: 761Member Intermediate
So, what would be the best heavy battle ship that has come out in the captains tickets so far? I'm thinking it would be maybe the CFCV or the Razee Frigate available now, but I may have missed a few. any thoughts?

Those would be my two choices.
    Kai - Maritimer
    Rhend - Trader

Those ships are intermittent crap which will devalue very soon. Try to sell them to others before some reasonable strong ships come. There is a big queue awaiting.

Any ship anyone gets that is a good ship I bet Katana would say is crap even is it was a Heavy La Mort
  • WesDoobnerWesDoobner Posts: 761Member Intermediate
Katana should be restricted to sailing in a Korean warship.

Actually, Katana tried to help me with a problem once, so I retract that statement. But he is asking for some bad karma with all the negativity.

Katana is often very negative, but his negative comment on the ships is dead on here.
Neither the CFCV or the MRF are end game ESF or BC quality ships. They will do for now of course, but I am not spending ANY high end parts on the mods for them.

Culvern - interesting thoughts you have there. I do have a CFCV that I hope will hold up for a while. My CFCV has 249 crew and 1403 dura - do you really think we're going to have ships much better than that very soon?

Your CFCV is an OK ship and will be fine for sometime I am sure, but with the speed that they are releasing new tickets (every two weeks) I wont be long before the next best thing is out.
I am holding all the good parts that i have for something better. I tried doing a CFCV build on UWOTOOL and could not get a build I was happy with.
If I used the high end parts on it then had to re-buy them for the next ship it would cost me Billions that I don't have. :)

Culvern, what are these ships we should be waiting for?
Which once are worth the billions?

There are many. Its really up to each persons style of play.
Some want the row boats for crew to melee, some want the cannon ships for sniping or brawling.
I would expect the AFCV is not far off.

what about the MR or RR - are those top of the line row ships?

As a PvE player I personally liked the MDSC3 since it mostly caters to my needs. Any thoughts on this ships for people who do are experienced in Maritime/PvP?
  • CulvernCulvern Posts: 646Member Intermediate
The MR and RR I would not consider top of the line rowers. At this point they might be with the ships that have been released so far, but they will be outdated eventually.
The Dragonship is actually a competitive end game PvP ship in the right role. It is fast and can hold its own. Great sniper ship.

Yeah, MDC3 has 180 crews and can reach 1,400+ durability. It can be used for anything from tank to salvages if you do right mods. Oh, it has kinda low TS , though. IMO, it's better than most non-rowing ships if not all.
  • WesDoobnerWesDoobner Posts: 761Member Intermediate
that doesn't sound very good at all. my CFCV, the ExxonValdez, has 1403 dura, 249 crew, 18 TS and 19 WR with 52 base armor. can the C3 be modded for more crew?

@WesDoobner believe me they are a pain in pvp battles, they are incredible fast and turn on a dime. Very hard to catch when you are a meleer :/

Panel used a C3 in BC all the time and was up against the best ships on gama. He did very well with it.

Pawel not panel.... stupid autocorrect on my phone.

Sounds like it would make a good bounty hunter, but can it really sink top tier battleships?

So if I want to get a row ship to work on my row skill, which one of these is the best for speed/melee?:

    Ambush LaRoyale
    Mod Real
    Refit Real
    Assault La Mort

I'm assuming the ambush LR would be better than the FLR?
I'm not ready to be a pirate yet, but I may be attacking other pirates, and I may also use this ship for ship races.

You ain’t gonna win any races in any of those rowers.

If want u a ship to attack pirates and be likely to win, it won’t be fast. A decent pirate ship will be teak or equivalent but a BH ship will normally be metal plated.
  • WesDoobnerWesDoobner Posts: 761Member Intermediate
I do want a row ship for a change though, so does any one of these stand out? I will probably panel the ship in noc metal.

Well wes id say what do you really want, speed or a pvp ship?

To get max speed you become weaker and pvp and vice versa.

I have an MR set up for speed, it’s not rapid but quick enough, however it’s 900 dura and 40 armour, so I would last long against of battle rigged MR if it was to catch me.

There are also things to think about.

The MR RR have 270 crew after a refit, that’s with no mods. With mods can have over 300 so great for melee.

The others in the list have around 225 I think after a refit.

Agile la royal is apparently (sail wise) with correct mods the fastest row boat in the game. But it has to inherit EA skill so at g6 u can still only have su 1 2.

The LLM (which I am waiting for) has EA as optional so can grade 6 with su 1 2 3.

So the agile will have slightly more top speed but the LLM will have better accel.

Both with college skill speed boost and also 50% speed boost and high row skill will catch most traders if not all.
So I’d opt for the LLM and get the extra accel.

Out of the ships you list I’m happy with the MR as a ship to last me until the LLM comes out.

    Hope that helps.

    Wouldn’t last long*
  • CulvernCulvern Posts: 646Member Intermediate
I have a Agile La Royale that I have inherited EA on. It is not real which would help speed it up, but it is no where near as fast in accel or top speed compared to the LLM.
The LLM is one of the fastest ships in the game. In gama only a few people could outrun my LLM (Gazi was very fast).
Everyone can outrun my ALR in maris.

As for which rower is the best, that does depend on how you plan to use it. Melee, speed, PvP and such.
Any one of the current rowers are decent.
    Enjoy the rowing skill grind.......
You will be slow until you hit r10-12 then you will start to notice the speed increase.
Downside of rowers is that you must always dedicate one of your active skills to rowing or you will be slow as fffk.
  • CulvernCulvern Posts: 646Member Intermediate
    * it is not TEAK (correction in first sentence above)
  • HelloAllHelloAll Posts: 701Member Intermediate
I suppose culvern your alr is also not G6 and and -25% like you would of had it in gama? Also not being teak massively effects sails as u know.

I’d be interested to see sail stats of ALR and LLM side by side after max speed mod and G6

Well, since I had some money burning a hole in my treasure chest, I went ahead and picked up an Ambush La Royale ticket. I traded for a CRWM ticket I didn't need plus 3b, so I hope I didn't get screwed too badly there. I added a noc metal panel to the ship and reset the performance, but now that I'm ready to build I'm not sure if it's worth using a lot of delphin sails and CIGP/AESC's on this ship, or if I should just build it with regular fs parts. I'll probably use this mostly for rowing grind and battle reports in the caribbean, and to possibly deal with lower level player pirates. I haven't decided whether to use the ship speed ups for my grade improvements or not. Any ideas?

So your not sure if it’s worth NC sails but u used noc on it xD
  • WesDoobnerWesDoobner Posts: 761Member Intermediate
Hey, you gotta look cool at least, even if you are driving a log with sails. but if this ship won't be much better or faster with 25 ts and 20 wr vs say 15/12, then why waste the delphs?
