Non row pirate ships

HelloAllHelloAll Posts: 701Member Intermediate
I would like some help on this please.

The idea in my mind of a row ship is generally a high crew ship that is quick (especially in the battle ring) but also low on dura.

I would like guidance on a non row ship that is fast enough to pirate but has dura/armour enough to fend of other pirates and weaker BH.

Obviously it would need to have reasonable crew but I wouldn’t be expeting it to have huge crew.

I did buy a CFCV to do this job but looking at the ship more closely I’m thinking it was the wrong choice.

crew size is the reason pirates use galleys, comparable sized non-row ships will always have a great deal less crew.

melee battle is a pirates bread & butter

I would imageine a lot of ships could pirate now with EA being able to be put on maritime ships when in the past it wasn't avasilable. I cant realy think of any great maritime ships that would be fast enough to catch people and be able to fight back. The first ship I think of is the super frigate but that is lvl 66 maritime.

You probably will want 200+ crews for melee ,but none of non-uwc ships are enough fast to catch up pirates, bh, or white players.

MDC3, Shadow Hind, and whatever Victory may have 200+ crews that's all I can remember lol.

CFCV is too slow to catch most trade ships.
In the long run quick row ships are the way to go. but rowing grind sucks,

Problem is, any ship fast enough to catch the trade ships is too low on dura to properly fight most BHs.
Good news is you dont have to fight the BHs because most sail high end battle ships that cant catch you.
