Long time player and need some tips as to how to grind beginning fame. (No spice/pepper permit yet. Im talking Northern Europe, the mediteranian type trade..
I went through most of the schools and am trying to trade specialty items from Lisbon to London but am getting like..7 fame for an hours work. At this rate it will take me 457.67 years to get to EA!

Did I forget something? Even with the buffs it'll take me years to get to Istanbul!
Help! I dont think I can grind again for five years to get to Nanban stage!

Anyways, I  tips? Cheers :)

It depends on your main playstyle (adventure/trade/maritime) I can write out some of them

    Port Discovery
Discover as many port as you can and report it to correct NPC to get max reward in gold and fame. You can report port settlement discovery in London(Lionel Dockett), Lisbon(Admiral Dias), Seville(Duke Farnese), Genoa(Duchess of Traetto), and Tunis(Leo Africanus).

    Grinding Quest
There's a lot of it and usually linear with some skill proficiency grind like Archaeology, Appraisal, Search, and Unlock. I don't really remember what quest but it's only doing quest by going forth and back between Istanbul-Athens-Alexandria.

    Grinding Maps
Personally I copy a lot of R8 Art Map (Religious Painting) from Venice Archive which discovery is in Naples Church, report it to NPC in Naples, rinse and repeat, but you need at least Art R8, Search R6 and Unlock R6. It gives good amount of exp, fame, as well as unlock and art skill proficiency

    Investment
Some players got check (around 100-500 mil) from founder rewards and CMIIW around 100 mil investment in capital city with trade job is enough to open all permits up to India/Caribbean (about 28k fame). We did this earlier when the 3x/2x exp/fame bonuses still active. I don't know if this will sufficient with current server condition (no fame buff)

    Spice/Nanban
This is what we do in our company. Player who already had SEA/EA permit gives all his spice/nanban to newbie who do not have permit yet, and then the newbie sell them all to market. Then the newbie gives back all the profit from selling items. This way the hauler get the money (who usually don't need exp/fame anmore), the newbie get the exp and fame.

    Battle Reports (BR)
You can try some easy BR in Seville by sinking barca, or the harder one in Istanbul using AOS, which could be expensive unless you're farming your own AOS

Personally I'd recommend getting help from fellow company mate by using spice/nanban or doing BR together. Hope it helps.

    Cheers!

Ok heres what I did to gain tons of fame early on.

    1. JOIN a company many people in your company would EASILY just hand tou goods like spices, food or whatever or would let you sell their nanban to MK if you gave them back the money or they can run Battle Reports with you. This is the quickest imo but if you insist on being stubborn and doing it by yourself lol.

    2. Specialty goods must be sold all at once in groups of 50 or more to get the fame and trade xp boost. Ie.  Selling for example  50 whiskey, 50 akavit,50 gin, 50 fruit brandy,  50 flannel,  50 EU armor,  50 dutch calico all of this is easily accessible in Europe just ride to each port grabbing 50 or more and move on to the next town alcohols are great they can't burn or be eaten by rats.   Anyways take all that to iberia Mediterranean area sell all at once… an watch the trade xp and fame come rolling in. Try to get a good rate if you can not mandatory. If you dont know whats a specialty or dont know the investment amount to make them appear in market go this link on ivyro and click each area.

To see the specialties, town they sold at,  area they are in(specialties local to an area must be sold outside that area for a bonus the further away the better)   and investment amount if needed.

    3. Founders rewards… sir if you used to have an account before claim your founders rewards by transferring your account over they gave people some decent prizes based in your levels 100mil checks ssip npc cash shop FS parts,  forged tools n all kinna stuff all that stuff can net billions if sold to players in merch chat which you can then use to buy nanban from players at the MK and power

    Level  your character

THE DEADLINE TO TRANSFER YOUR ACCOUNT IS JAN 31 2018

Dont screw up and miss out on your rewards.   Here is the link

Do the transfer service and then claim your rewards at the bank

    4. Oxford.   Remember thesis give a good amount of xp and fame and is accessible early on just take the carriage in London talk to the professor to do them easy.

    Good luck

    I figured it out.
because I was re compensated with cash I bough 50 re-investment certificates and invested around 60 million Ducats in Maderia :)
Took 10 minutes to get 15 000 fame.
    Expensive but very effective!
    Plus Maderia loves me now!
    Cheers:)
