Deathcam as a room setting

Hello soldiers,

We have noticed that many of you have suggested that we should remove Deathcam from the game - since, according to you, it "kills snipping". Therefore, we have decided to make a poll regarding if it should be an option while creating a room.

sounds promising. but if you make the "death cam" optionable, please do also think about removing the red dots from the mini map. in my mind this is the real thing, that kills sniping (speaking about BG)

if you get shot by a sniper you just need to press T and check your map for the red dot. if you now have just the slightest bit of map awareness you instantly know where your enemy is. that's not really the hide and seek game that sniping in generally should be...

I agree it should be optional, and maybe even to be removed from the game.

However, deathcam is good for new players to learn hides and moves.

The death cam not only seriously affects sniping. It is a massive handicap while for example taking bases. You kill someone, get hit too and 4 seconds later you face a respawned enemy who until he reentered the base exactly saw where you are and now comes around the corner with all guns blazing or tosses a grenade right into your hiding spot.

The red dot indeed is even worse since it not only seriously handicaps snipers. Even worse is its role when breaking out of a besieged map to capture another flag. As soon as you kill someone everybody knows exactly where you are. Giving every enemy helicopter / plane / vehicle / sniper plenty of time to kill you on your way to that flag.
Thus one basically can choose between taking that flag and hiding somewhere else in case the enemy team quickly retakes it or fighting and being whiped out which turns the breakout useless.

there are only old players. At least 95% of those potential new players at BG are nothing but fun accounts created by old players. Old players who in most cases learned to face snipers and play BG maps before the red dot and later the death cam were implemented. I paid attention to the hit marker which roughly showed the direction i was fired upon from or checked the locations more experienced players shot from.

That was more than sufficient to at least kind of learn how to snipe or detect possible locations for enemy snipers.

How about creating a ingame screen notice like the "xyz has been banned" that returns every 15 minutes which informs the players about this poll and where it can be found?
Nothing big. Just line that says for example "poll at the forum: tell us how the death cam should work".

Too many players do neither visit the forum nor use discord but they should still be voices / opinions you want to hear!

Not using forum / discord / fb should not put a player into the "we (Papaya) do not care about your opinion"-group.

Of course this could and should be done every time when you (Papaya) wants to know how the players think about something.

Theses guys asking for the red dot to be removed will be the type of player laying down on a map using an overpowered more times then not one hit anywhere kill weapon. If you remove the red dot from the map then the only place a single hit kill should happen is a headshot. And the stats should be adjusted for all weapons so there is NO single hit kill anywhere bar the head to a player with full health!

Or the weaker rifles in game should obtain the feature of no map marking ssg/m24 etc this way using a weaker weapon in game gives you an advantage over a dependent AW50 user!

Voted to remove death cam permanently.

Exactly. There is no chance to find that poll.

There is no ingame newsticker that informs the players about polls or any other "important" topics.

And pease do not point out that there is a news section on the website. 90% of your players do not visit the website or log in to get the news in their account management section. They do not visit or care about the forum, discord and they do not read any information boards implemented at the launcher.

All they do is start the launcher and click on "START".

So if you want to know what your players think you need to inform them were they pay attention and that is in game. Implement a newsticker like the one informing about recent live bans. This is the text they all pay attention to. Start a newsticker that repeats every 15-20 minutes and your polls will recive more attention.

God Cheerful, really? I am sorry but the WR Papaya team is so unprofessional at times, it is cringe-worthy. As Nuffi clearly points out, how did you even consider another outcome of this poll?

Or you decide to go with what the people on the forum have to say, maybe since these people are actually putting in time and effort to share their opinions to make WR a better game. Or you keep these stupid excuses that 'there were not enough respondents'. Make up your mind please.

Hello,

Isn't a "deathcam" supposed to show how you died, instead of spectating the player after you got killed by him/ her?

If it was an actual kill-cam (showing how you died), I think a lot of people would love to keep it in game.

Hey there!

As you all may have noticed, we already have a poll system in-game, which means that many more players are now capable of voting. Just to let you know, the deathcam poll will be brought shortly.

Also, @0x0539, if we did this, the problem would still remain there --> If you can see the player shooting at you (like rewinding), you will still be able to track him down, which is what most of you are complaining about.
