    I always heard at some point we could turn Japanese in game, but I'm pretty sure those were just rumors. It would be fun to turn German and wear a pickle helm while sinking British ships..

    Your history is incomplete. The Chinese explored most of the seas well before the Europeans did. Zheng He sailed all the way down to the antarctic, and south africa. Some of his maps even show  the bottom part of Americas years before the Europeans did, and that was back in the 14th-15th century. New evidence that we have now also shows that the Chinese crossed the Pacific Ocean and made it to the new world about 70 years before Columbus did.
