Battle Campaign Event

Ok so yesterday I logged into the game, was doing BR quest, working on maritime, lvl 38 so far, and right as I logged in I saw that there was a GM- sponsored Battle Campaign Event. So I figured what better time than to find out about BC and learn something. I went to the port and got transferred to BC headquarters, and I wasn't there 30 seconds, or even figured out how to register for the event, when the ones already there had looked at me, sized me up and my ship, and started with their "comments" making fun of me and my ship. And this was a GM event.....what happens at "normal" BC? I was using a Modified Nordic Galleon, with one skill, APB, which requires Arms 8, my Arms is much lower than that currently, as if it mattered. I got one-hit ko'd twice, (and it wasn't crits). I was really lost, as far as knowing how BC worked or what to do. I figured this was the best way to learn. This is just to give an overall sense of the attitude toward "noobs" in general. Keep in mind this was an EVENT. There is One player in the game who I won't mention here, who has helped me and is helping me some with learning a few things.

I worry that this game is going to take a quick fall. And I think a shot catalyst to this is the “vets” aloof and dismissive attitude to anyone they think is not an equal.
And that’s not just referring to BC.
I’m sure Boliao will enjoy sailing around empty sea’s in his max modded ship and his max refined skills.
This is an old game, with poor pixels and know one knows about it, if you get an ego from being slightly superior in this game it’s so sad...your hardly world famous.
People keep on mention “pro”
Let me share the definition:
engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as an amateur.
Is there one person on this game that can claim that?
This game could survive the the egotistical narcissistic maritime “pro’s” could adapt to changes and share with others.
Seems most of the can’t.
If you did, then you would be more understanding of other people.
Try googling your ign.
With all due respect to OP, i do not feel like BC is the right place for you to go. A few occasional taste events with friends are fine. But not any serious games.
Before the OGP fall, me and my friends had one last night of crazy bc. We had half vets and half newbies, made rules like only single shot at newbie, not 5x broadside. Such nurturing is not possible with strangers.
Pvp in uwo is an expensive luxury, both financially and socially.
But meh, the game is at its end. Dont waste your time in its petty version of maritime. If you are serious about BC like pvp, come play world of warships blitz, free mobile game without any p2w bs.
On the other hand what did all the 'vet' Maritimers do when they first started? You were going into battle with basic skills, crude strategy, and rubbish ships and equipment - and having a fun time.
So you got the chance to learn without some 'vet' kicking you out of the room just because you were a noob.
Everyone is talking about the low numbers of Maritimers - but It's possible one of the causes is the attitude of arrogant vets.
We all need to be welcoming new players 'cos if we don't, they won't stay.
At least in the games that I was involved in most vets laid-off the noobs, let them have fun, take part and learn.
I sucked back then because i didnt understand the 2-second server scan mechanism for turning. I didnt know how to crit by instinct. Nobody explained those tricks to me. So i had to learn from lots of mocks with friends. But still it was still hard to compete in BC.
Then ganador came. I learnt to survive against 15 npc all attacking at me. Then i gradually improved my defensive ability. Also worked on cannon fighting ganador boss to learn how to crit.
I short words, BC takes commitment and sportsmanship. It is wrong for vet to reject newbs, but it is also wrong for newbs to attend without full commitment.
