I'm glad you were able to post a picture. The posting title was a bit confusing. It brought to mind something in the bathroom, I was thinking you were proud of a huge floater or something... :D

good point. I could have also named it the Baby Ruth.

It looks really good wes, guess I won’t be pirating you in that thing. It’s got good sail stats too, I’m surprised actually.
Better sails than my MR which is speed modded.

Did you use Dsails in the end?

With it being a pvp build I would of probably gone for TS over max row, but it’s still a nice build.

I only used a few good parts: 4 dstorm, 3 dgaff, 2 AESC, 3 custom rigging, 2 custom rope and 1 CIGP.

I don't understand the armor number.
All of the others you add together.. but not armor?
  • WesDoobnerWesDoobner Posts: 761Member Intermediate
no that is not the correct base armor number. I must have had some armor plates on when I took that, and maybe a sail. here's the improvements with no sails or armor added:

What's your plan to keep that ship form through g6?

Great question, but a better question was why didn't I know to keep the ship form before I screwed up. I was using LC's to grade up and that wiped out some of my improvements when the form changed to expedition ship from battleship - live and learn I guess but that was a real downer. I had my dura up by 280 and armor up by 23 before that happened. When I grade up to G6 I'll just use battle galleon mat ships, which I probably should have been doing at least one grade earlier. If I grade this ship up that is, I'm thinking about just using this ship for a while and then building a similar ship in the future without the screwups, if I can get enough good parts to build another ship.

BTW, I don't have much experience with row ships, but this ship seems incredibly fast, almost too fast to click on fleets when I'm doing battle reports. This ship can already sail from Santo Domingo to Seville in 14 days and I don't have any special speed improvements, no current speed boosters, using +13/-14 armor and my row skill is only at rank 3.

    Sounds quick.
The change form thing can be a big problem past g3.
Up till g3 you can change the form of a ship by fusing g0 ships without worries. It takes 8x battle ships to go from expedition to battle form.

Once you pass g3 you have to use ships equal in grade or you can have a fiasco and get downgraded. So if you are at G5 and want to change form you would need to use 8x G5 mat shits to do it safely (can still get downgraded on fails but less likely)
The expense is enormous! Would be cheaper to reset the grade and start over at a point like that.
Or leave it, expedition ships are better for speed.

Actually since the ship is now high speed battle ship, it would mean that the counter for both expedition type and battle type are equal. One battle ship mat would most likely be enough to turn it back into battle ship again, however....

I've seen sometimes when you grade it doesn't always add it so the change form does not happen...like g1 generic ships. Maybe that's specific to generic ships. Not 100% sure about that.

True about perhaps only needing the one.
I was just stating for any ship to go from expedition to battle, not this particular ship.
I know I have done the same mistake in the past and ended up downgrading twice! I'm still a noob. :(
