What are EX items and what do they do?

I've been seeing these EX items for sale at seville and they seem to do some pretty cool stuff, but it's hard to get details because you can't really google ex and get any results related to uwo. Can someone explain these items and their effects, or point to a guide on them? thanks in advance!

i believe that EX items are alchemy made. Mostly all i know is that they are 'effect' items and can be pretty useful in different circumstances.

They are made via Transmutation Alchemy. You can read more about it here.

They are costly to make however, because they require those Special Purchase Bonds from the cash shop. And similar to ship fusion, they can bleed your wallet if your really unlucky, since it has a more or less 50/50 chance of success, and if you fail all the mat items, including the Special Purchase Bonds, will poof disappear. They are somewhat cheaper here then they were on OGPlanet, but you can still end up spending a lot if you really unlucky.

You dont loose the item you try to transmute and you can use book of wingless dragon to preserve mats on fail and book of urebos to ensure success.

I have purchased a plunder ex weapon the claims r10. Not sure how the rank of a ex is classified but I will tell you my rare item plunder is easily 4-5 times greater using the item than without it. And that is with r20 plunder.

@Culvern maybe it give the rare plunder skill at r10?

    Perhaps.
The rare item skill is an oxford skill so I'm not sure how or if there are ranks for that.

So just to be super clear on this subject, let's discuss the item I'm looking at, the Robe EX. The seller is saying that this increases the amount of trade goods you can buy by 40%. Does that count for all trade goods, like nutmeg? And this Robe EX will have a certain durability just like regular garments and I will always be able to buy 40% more as long as I'm wearing it and keep the durability above zero?

I had that Robe EX outfit back on GAMA.

    - It adds a 40% purchasable boost amount for ALL trade goods at the market based on your XXX Trading skill.

    - It also stacks with any booster equipment you may have on you, so you can actually buy more the higher the rank your trading skill is.

    - Fleet members can leech and use the bonus for themselves as well. So you could pass the Robe EX outfit to an alt, and put on all your booster equipment to maximize your buying.

    - Just like all other pieces of equipment without an effect, it will deteriorate over time and will *POOF*, disappear, when it reaches zero.

    - A friend, who is a player pirate, confirmed awhile back that this CAN be plundered by other players and NPCs. So unless your feeling really adventurous the bank vault is your friend when sailing in hostile waters outside Europe...

Great info, and I better be careful, I don't need some NPC cruising around with my Robe EX on.

I think it's best we test the plunderable theory.
Let me know when you sailing with it and whrer you'll be........you know, just as a test. :)
