Not sure if Merchant chat specifically had an issue, but there is/was a bug where adding someone to your block list prevented proper usage of World chat.
My greatest issue with the Merchant channel - and Seville's shout channel too for that matter - is that people borderline spam their WTS/WTB list. Like multiple times a minute. It makes it fly by and very difficult to follow at times. Like we just saw your message 10 seconds ago - there's no need to shout it again...and again...and again. Give it a mild interval.
I understand there is competition, and people going in and out of the channel, as well as Seville...but please - you don't need to remind us what you're trading every other exhale lol.
Maybe there should be a brief cooldown or something.
I have been trying to get everyone to use UWOMarkert since we switched to Papaya. Everyone wanted a place to sell their stuff and not spend all day shouting and people loved it. Even has an eBay style auction.
It was super popular in GAMA, but ever since the switchover, people have stopped using it. It's free and private and all communications between players are private...no player emails are ever disclosed.
If I can't get it going again to help you guys sell/buy/trade easier than shouting and getting your shouts scrolled out of view, I will have to consider closing it down.
@walkerDePlank1 UWO Market is a good idea however I personally just checked there and see little difference in the ammount of listings compared to Gamma, maybe when I check theres not a lot happening.
The other issue is timezones, I mean could take ages for the buyer and seller to even meet up ingame because buyer might be US and seller EU, and ofcourse could miss each other, something comes up for either party.
What I think would be better going is guide prices for items. Now I realise there are so many stuffs ingame to come up with prices for and I know CPC has some guides also. But it would be nice if we had some kind of speadsheet with say 10 random and annomeness people to input prices on the spreedsheet of prices and then you can hopefully get a range of prices.
Either way ... I have received tons of great reviews from users in GAMA and setting up an appointment between seller/buyer is not as difficult as you think.
The communication app is there if something comes up to notify each other, or if they wish, exchange their personal email addresses. Myself, I have asked longtime friends in the same time zone to help me with a transaction, since it was something I really wanted and did not want to miss out on.
On your other point, prices are too subjective to place into a spreadsheet. Demand and supply drive the price fluctuation and it's ever-changing. Not to mention its both what the seller demands and what the buyer is willing to pay or negotiate.
Thank you for your comments, I always appreciate listening to all sides.
Thanks for your efforts in supporting the game Walker! One thing I always thought would be great was if they raise to price limit on things sold in the comp shops so every item could be sold there. Also another tab added for ships (used ship lot) Where people could sell their ships in the comp shop and buyers could look at numerous ships available. This way time zones would not be an issue. Would have way less people sitting in seville and way more people out playing the game.
