Population is too low

Is Papaya thinking about any sort of advertising? Population is too low, sometimes I think the entire game world has only 50 players playing 150 toons, not even a start to think about investing my time playing this anymore.

Between my company and friend's list - I can easily account for close to 50 different people who play actively/semi-actively. And I know they don't even represent a tenth of the population. Also, not everyone uses 3 characters at once. Many use 2. Others - only 1.

The low population thing is overstated, in my opinion. Just going by the number of different people I interact with, see chatting, show up for events and so on.

It's not high, by any means, and yes - they should advertise the game better. But you know what - so can you. There's still plenty of fun to be had, and cool peeps to meet and hang with in game. Give it a chance and then make your own mind up.

Not to mention not all players are staying at one spot ie Seville as well as we have 8-9 different time zones. I could see 100+ players out on sea in Europe fairly easy.

Papaya could add more players and revenue even without spending on advertising if they just did this: http://forum.papayaplay.com/index.php?p=/discussion/364116/place-uwo-back-on-steam
Before the wipe, everyone knew that the only new players were from Steam. But, alas, they're just too bad of a company...

It is a good point. It seems you may be a new player tho. How did I you find the game?

I was following this game since before it was released in West, played VCO (& StarCraft) then meanwhile. Installed at around year 2010-2011, but it didn't work, and I found something else to do (World of Tanks mostly). Finally got to it last summer (2017), in Steam. I don't play much.

Last time I was around Seville I saw almost 200 alts/aides with opened bazaars and 4 active guys yelling to sell or buy something... Oh, and the poor 5 guys grinding shipbuilding outside.
