Academy Debates & Losing Your Discovery Cards

One of the frequent things I hear in regard to not wanting to participate in Academy Debate is that people do not want to lose their discovery cards if they lose a match. Here are a few facts about losing your cards, and how that can actually be a GOOD thing:
- Losing a discovery card in debate is the SAME THING that occurs when you use a discovery to create an ornament, or report a discovery to a port official in Lima/Ambon/Ternate/National Caribbean Colonies.
- You do not lose the discovery, just the card. Your total discovery count does not decrease, just the number of cards you hold.
- Some cards are worth losing! Whenever you lose a card, you can then redo the quest...and this can be good for one-time/non-repeatable only quests (Excalibur, Dungeon quests, etc.)
- The Shipwreck Memorial Albums are incredibly difficult to complete as the items come typically from discovery shipwrecks. Once that discovery is made (ship raised & searched), you will not be able to get that ship again. Losing a shipwreck discovery then puts that shipwreck back into your possible maps, making chances for completing those albums increase significantly!
- If you lose a card in a chain that you have not completed, you do not have to go back to redo the quest! As stated before, you do not lose the discovery just the card.
These are just a few reasons and explanations regarding card loss at Academy Debate.

Besides, these events come around once a month, so that's a whole month to reclaim any lost discoveries.
It's also just a really fun time!
