Shipwreck with ghost pirates and lost sailors?

Yesterday I did a shipwreck that had some "ghost pirates" that I had to fight like normal enemies and "lost sailors" that gave me money and items when I talked to them. I got quite a bit more from this than a normal shipwreck. Has anyone else seen this shipwreck? Can this happen on any shipwreck at random, or is it only a certain shipwreck?
May the winds blow you well

It is a rare-ish shipwreck that appears in a few known locations with certain star number maps.  I have a few of them documented on my blog.

@WesDoobner This list is not complete as I started this blog back on GAMA after I was about 180 (or so) shipwrecks in, but here are a few that come from 9* maps, there are a few others I know about in Western Africa and there are a few "legends" of some that appear in other places.

also make sure you get done what you need when you are in the ghost wreck as they are on a time limit. On OGP i found one and was exploring it but after a limited amount of time i was booted from it and it disappeared.

There are a few ways of telling if the wreck is going to be a ghost wreck. Most of the times it involves a map that is often in some odd locations (for example, South Caribbean sea map showing Lake Maracaibo: rarely any other wreck is found there.). So far I have seen 5, 7, and 9 star ghost wrecks. There is a high chance that the raising party will get some sort of a disaster usually not explained by normal gameplay (homesickness with high ability/loyalty, good supply of food, etc).

Once you raise the shipwreck and it turns out to be a ghost ship, your aide will say something about it:

Then the ghost ship will be represented with ripped sails:

On the inside, you have enemies that you MUST eliminate in order to open the chests so bring some gear if you don't have them already. After dealing with them, you can go through the chests and click lost sailors to get additional items, until the message about "no more spirits will appear" shows up in chat. Then you can choose to leave the shipwreck, or stay in it until it breaks eventually. The result seems to be the same. It used to not count towards to your total if you let it break, however at some point it seems to have been patched.

Get someone with marching skill top join entering the wreck - it makes the wreck last longer before faling apart.
