More than one Dead Sea?

Just wondering what’s people’s view of the game at the moment? They still enjoying it?

I started pirating again recently after a month off and I’m a little surprised at how much more empty the sea’s seem to be.

Also I’m regularly seeing people shell out major ducats for ships now.
People talking 30b ducats or more.

Is it me or is this game turning into a game of collecting money and sitting in sev again?

also is there really this big shortage of AFT’s or are people hoarding them?

I worked hard to compete the generals cloak MA and I really wanted to get it to at least 100 armour but can’t get tools anywhere now.

Also just watched new avengers! Loved it!

The way I was sinking npc's in esf this morning, they might call it that now.

Still having fun. Doing things I have not done before like working on the SB grind. At base SB13 at the moment. For ESF, I have not built/bought ships or worked on MT skills, but tried running armour to forts today in a Big Trade Clipper (that I made myself this time) during battle. Managed to drop off 30 plates in three different forts while only getting caught once. Thought Wes was turning around to chase once, but he was circling for NPCs. Also, trying to stay in FS ships and not cash ships. I figure I will get bored when I go sea charting again in a couple weeks. There is enough to do that I did not do before to keep things fresh while redoing the mundane. It's a big game.

Still having fun as well, though the seas are not as busy as they once were.

The armor forging tools are in short supply since everyone needed them all at the same time since the reset.

@ranger You have more patience then I, getting past r10 in Shipbuilding is terrible to me. I get board after 10 mins.

I saw a lot of low-mid level people trying out ESF for the first time. Was great to see that!

I want to try ESF. I have a ARG and a CCC but both are unmodded and I don’t have the cash or the SSIPs or ESBR in order to mod them. Doh

I don't care much about the multiplayer part of this game, I've got a number of things to do here before I move on, like charts all areas, become a mayor, finish national quests, etc. It is harder to sell unneeded items though, even with almost no relation to price: there is near-zero demand for most things worse than top-level (or consumables/mats).

I do believe Papaya will be working on Steam again... once that procedure is done, then I am sure more players will join the game. In OGP, there were considerable amount of players playing through steam.

Although I did wished they did this DURING our transfer period. The actions are rather delayed repeatedly.

This game has all kinds of different things for people to do, single player and multiplayer. If you're grinding to the point of boredom or frustration, I would suggest doing something completely different in game. If needed, take a break from UWO for a few weeks and pursue something completely unrelated IRL, so that the game is fresh and exciting again when you come back.

I was a longtime member on Gama and in my opinion, even my company seems more inactive these days,I do see a lot of activity in the waters. Lost of traders it seems and contrary to the doom and gloom, I actually think we have a nice population count.

I don’t think thy will be shutting down this server for many years hopefully!

Same here. Technically, many members didn't returned from Gama while some members got lost interested in game for some reasons.

I think it will be more activity this month after Papaya added exp/fame/skill boost and 50% supplies consumed. Also, Papaya decided to test 1 hour restriction for Piracy. Not to mention we will have r17 adventure quests/maps.

At least, they did listen to some suggestions ,so maybe UWO will get better soon.

Due to the reset, lots of things have changed, and lots of stuff that was already done needs to be redone. I don't think it's a case of there being less activity, I think people are just doing different things for now than they used to due to the necessity of going back and doing certain things over. I'm sure company activity will pick up once people get caught up on individual priorities.

    dont expect it....

first of all, papaya destroyed virtual property, they dont like that, since it can lead to complains.

other than that, this game, due to the small transfer window, and that people have the feeling the company did it on purpose so they could "destroy payed for property/pixels".

this game has gotten abit of a bad name on steam ( where alot of people do in microtransactions) and they wont forget easily im afraid...

im one of them too btw, spent like 200-300 euros on this title only to notice a half year too late all my stuff was deleted, thats not how you keep customers happy..

even i am hesitating to begin with the game again, only for the feeling of beeing (scammed) out of my money... again dont get me wrong, eula and such, and dont expect bought pixels to last, but we arent talking only about rules and eulas here. feelings and fairness arent always logical. and this game left a bad feeling when papay took over.

so i wouldnt be surprised to be honest if this game will never get on steam. anymore.. and if it would get on, i bet there will be ALOT of complaints.

If this were a subscription based game that cost, let's say $20/mo to play, then you would have spent 200 bucks for 10 months of play. How many years did you play for those 200-300 bucks; 2, 3, 8?

By spending real money on ANY game run on hosted servers, you run the risk of losing all of that money if the servers "reset" or shutdown. It happens all of the time and will continue to happen forever.
