My Horse Speaks Pig?

In discovering my pet is bilingual I assume all pets say "Oink," but it will be awhile before I train a 2nd pet, and that made me wonder if "Oink" is the universal pet language in UWO?

So, does anyone have a pet type that says something other than oink?

Oh, and for those who don't know - and assuming the game hasn't changed the way it works - a trained pet made into a deed remains trained as long as it remains in your control - inventory or storage.

Which becomes a second question - has anyone trained a 2nd pet since the reset, and do they remain trained?

    I have some that Squeak, my arctic fox for example.

    If you can store two pets in your quarters (using the Pet Breeder certificate), the 2nd pet remains trained.  However, if you have more than that, or do not have the certificate, your original pet will be converted back into a pet deed which resets them.  Although that would be super cool if you could sell pets that are fully trained!

    My dog doesn't speak that I know of, he has my aide convey his messages for him.

    He picks up things like shipwreck pieces and things that other people have dropped, anyway that's all that I've noticed so far. Other than that all I'm aware of is when my aide says something like "Oh Lordy, Harry be gettin' playful, Captain!".

    Dogs have the skill to find items in landing areas while procuring/collecting.  Some of these items are for two different Memorial Albums, pet food, other consumables...it all depends on where you are doing these procuring/collecting.

    Their next skill will scare off NPC enemies on land...this is about 50% of the time from my experience.

    The last dog skill is it will find an additional discovery (again about 30-50%) of the time when you make an adventure discovery.  The dog, when I had it, found similar items to what was found with the procure/collection skill, but will also find items when making discoveries at sea.

    This skills appear for your pet when they gain intimacy, which can stop progression based upon your pet training skill.  Once you level up pet training, typically, the pet will begin to gain intimacy again once your give it toys or food.

    Additionally, I have been keeping track of what my pets find on land using procure/collection skill...although it is a work in progress.  Alianore's UWO Exacavation Site
