Returning Player Completely Lost

G'Day!

I've been playing this game on and off almost since launch but never really managed to stick to it for more than a few (very intensive playing, though) months for various reasons.

Right now I'm sitting on a 175 mage with decent but far from OP gear and frankly don't even know where to level or what gear to aim for. Any input on that is highly appreciated. I would be even happier if there are any guilds I could join or people to talk in game to to get me back on track.

I also tried searching in game but all I got there was one guy constantly accusing me of playing a hacked account - quite a warm welcome...

Anyway thanks in advance and see you in game!

Hi! Your best option for levelling at that level is to get some runes (from either Jack in ardeca for lots of seeds of dreams, from the auction house or from the cash shop) and then run infinite battle 2 fight dungeon in deadlands solo, it needs a ticket to enter which you can either get from the dshop, other players in game or again by seed of dreams at Jack in Ardeca. The runes proc when you kill monsters and give you a huge chunk of exp each time.

If you can't run that dungeon and you don't have runes... You're in for a long farm of commission quests in the highest level zone you can enter - which for you would be Mitera map in the bottom left of Ardeca. Also run Deadfront when it pops up, with or without runes - fire is better than ice for exp but both are ok.

Gear wise, get whatever you can afford and level up to 185++ asap - gloves +9 and wep + 9 will help you level MUCH faster if you can get them.. Then it totally depends on your budget, ideally you'll want to get a helpyron set, even low +d to start with. But if you can't afford that get the level 180 set +9 and work towards it. It's hard to be specific without knowing lots of details about your char etc so hope it helps. :P

Thank you so much! That helped me out a lot. I've actually found a 7-day 5-runes-package II - not sure how far that is going to get me but I'll be popping it next week after my exams. Don't have many resources in terms of DIL/tickets, though so I will probably have to find something else to grind on with those runes...

Gear wise I've already got +9 DN 172 gloves, some trashy +7 150 set pieces and a +10 150 ulti wand. Used to solo IB with that but not sure if it's going to be enough for IB2 in case I do manage to get tickets.

For accessories some really kind soul just helped me out getting a lachrymae. From the good ol' days I've got a dragon blande necklace, a geiz necklace +9 and a dragon garnet necklace (because my miterra's tear went back to zero, which probably was the reason I had quit in the first place). Also both immo jade bracelets, two spell sheens and a flag of war + sun wukong costume.

Which accessory setup should I aim for these days / what am I lacking the most and how do I obtain it? Sorry I've got so many questions but the latest updates are just not documented at all...

Well the tickets for ib2 are only like 30 seeds or something from jack so they are easily farmable! You may need some more runes/buffs or somethin to solo it but you can also go to another dungeon like crespo coffin runs or something to proc your runes - it's just not as good. Anywhere where there's lots of enemies to kill is fine.

    Accessories are too big a subject to get into fully ^^ .... But the basic things you should start going for are;

The infinite dragonic perpetuus (upgraded perpetuus in the crafting menu, http://forum.papayaplay.com/index.php?p=/discussion/574/guide-dragonic-items#latest ) You can also buy sacred claw boxes from other players on the auction house to get random ingredients for the perpetuus making it much easier to craft it. (The random boxes drop from Karon's Transport Ship dungeon on Requies Beach Seashore)

Upgrade your dragon necks to legendary dragon necks with the extra 2% stat on them, or maybe just upgrade 1 of them and get a different accessory for the other slot. (Run the Dungeon Master quest from valley rift NPC Eva Riana if you remember that, clear 4 dungeons and get Dragon souls as a reward. Or buy them from the cash shop. NPC Ishtar in Ardeca to upgrade them.)

Another option is to get a Master wedding ring, which is an upgraded permanent Wedding ring dropped from the normal honeymoon dungeon in Ardeca, NPC High Priestess. It's a VERY rare drop though and is a more offensive accessory, useful if you have higher vitality from other sources or for swapping to.

A maxed karons fang - which is an upgraded maxed mitera tear, sorry.. :P NPC Karin in Ardeca for that. The pieces needed to upgrade it are dropped from pretty much any monster in the game in the outside world, just farmfarmfarm!

Perfect spell dragon ear rings, which are upgraded sealed spell dragon ear rings - costing a lot of seeds of dreams from Jack in ardeca. (sealed spell dragon ear rings can be bought off the auction house pretty cheap, or dropped from horror honeymoon dungeon in ardeca - NPC High Priestess) or you can use 1 of the DK Square pvp ear rings which will cost you nothing but doing the daily pvp quests each day and saving the tokens up - you can buy it from NPC More in Ardeca.

A sailors ring of abyss+0 if you can afford it at level 185 or one of the worse sailor rings if you can't afford. A pretty cheap decent option for newer characters, especially if you don't have full other accessories yet. These are made in the crafting menu by combining the ring drops from the Karons Transport Ship dungeon on Requies Beach Seashore, level 180+.

There's more like wings, pets, mounts, armlets, belts etc and then accessory swapping to maximise damage during fights... But if you start with the stuff here - you'll hopefully have more of an idea about those things by then and have some personal preference on how you want to build your character. :3

Oh god looks like I've got a lot of work to do... First of all thank you so much for all the detailed information! Now I actually know what I should be doing

Just one thing that wasn't clear in the perpetuus guide is - where or which is that 175 DG? (by name/location)

No problem, honestly this gets asked a lot and usually just gets ignored so hopefully other people can read it too and get an idea where to aim now. :P

175 Dungeon (DG) is Sacred claw in the bottom right of Dravice field map, which you enter through Dravice town.

Thanks a bunch! By the way, are those slots left and right (respectively) of the bracelets now in use? They just say they take an attack- and defense "force" but I have no idea what that might be if it even exists yet. (translation and stuff...)

And one more thing - I am quite desperate on getting my master skill "duplace" upgraded but those tomes used to be unbelievably expensive. What's the best way to upgrade these days/where to get the tomes?
  • ShirololShirolol Posts: 80Approved Member Beginner
The force slots either side of the armlets aren't implemented yet sadly..

Duplace is your step 2 skill, and they are the most sought after and usually most powerful so they can get pretty pricey. :P Don't be desperate to max it, see it as a mid-long term goal because the higher levels have a low chance to succeed so you're gonna waste a lot of books. You can get them from the Mitera dungeons Karon's Fire Pot (Red Hole (Swamp) on map) or Dragon's Nest (NPC Desacato) or more likely just buying them from other players/the cash shop. Make sure to use blessing of gnire to increase the % chance you succeed after the first few levels, they are from the cash shop or other players or rarely from horror honeymoon dungeon in Ardeca. Many players get high level and even a basic set before they manage to max meisters out, so don't worry. ^^

Thanks! I've actually got two more questions - first of all, what is the best way to farm seeds? I've only had like 100 left in my inventory but that's not going to get me too many tickets... (I used one for a test run and by spamming some fish I actually did make it through). So besides cash shop, how can I farm them? And if cash shop, are the IB2 ticket boxes more bang for my buck than the seed boxes?

Second question: Is the Karon's Fang really better than maxed tear? I've caught up with maxing my tear (thanks for making it fail proof :3) and really enjoyed my time. Then decided upgrading it to a fang and now got a shiny fang but tbh I feel like tear was so much more powerful and I kind of regret upgrading it. At least for PvE that is.

Farm seeds by farming mobs, lots of mobs - get some spicy steamed bass or alts/friends to run a train with you to make huge lures and aoe. Dragons nest dungeon also drops a lot of seeds, but unless you buy tickets off the dshop to enter you'll need to spend seeds to enter. :P Don't buy seed boxes for tickets for sure, if you are set on spending cash for tickets buy just the tickets.

Maxed fang is in a whole new league compared to the tear, though they are more aimed at being pvp accessories - so keep that in mind. ^^ PvE accessories generally stack monster damage resistance, pure damage and stuff like that. The fang is used in pretty much 100% of end game builds these days so even for that reason alone you can't not upgrade your mitera, the main stat gives a HUGE boost to damage - more than most realise, and more than most available accessories in the game for certain classes, then it's one of the best tanky accessories in the game, for pvp of course.
