Here's the thing about lootbox lottery type systems that I think people forget. Let's say for an imaginary example that the chance of getting an SLS from a ticket is 1%. This doesn't mean that if you buy 100, or even 1000 tickets that you're guaranteed to get an SLS...odds do not work that way. You simply have 100 or 1000 1% chances to get the SLS. Opening more tickets does not technically give you better odds, it simply gives you more shots at the same odds.
“The danger of venturing into uncharted waters is not nearly as dangerous as staying on shore, waiting for your boat to come in.” - Charles F. Glassman
Another thing that people seem not to realize is that if the odds for the games best ships were better then everyone would have one. This would mean that we would no longer need to buy any tickets or build anymore ships. Which means they close the server.
Believe it or not, none of us NEEDS the top ship. Certainly all of us should not have it. Once we all have everything, then what?
One of the biggest problems with this game is buyers and seller cant find each other.
This leads to rampant re-sellers and it is almost impossible to buy/sell UWC items at a reasonable price unless you are willing to wait a long time.
I myself exploit this fact very well. In less than 1 week i was able to turn 10 billion cash into 25+ billion cash by simply buying tickets at 200m each and reselling them for 300m by waiting a few hours after i bought them. Its all about timing price barely matters.
Than other people see me offering a sell price they start doing the same thing and 300m per ticket becomes the norm after a while.
This is very bad for the new players as they get alienated and can't afford to even play unless they spend real money and not engage in trade at all. Hence one of the reason for the low player base.
I understand that rampant re-selling is bad for the player base but it is absurdly stupid not to abuse this poorly designed economy. My personal goal for the game is to make money as much as possible as i have already played most of the content and there is never going to any new content anyways. If you have the best possible setup you can make 350m-400m per hour from doing nanban. But this just blows that method out of the water. Rampant re-selling is the end game goal for many players.
Also if you think chance of getting SLS or any other superior ship is 1% than you are wrong. Look up and understand binomial probability distribution you will see it pretty easy to prove chance of getting rare ships is way less than 1%.
I said in the past Papaya is a money grabbing publisher whose only intent is to milk the community dry before dumping this game. To achieve this they may let the game live for one year or two so lots of us get addicted once again before being betrayed.
They do not intend to run the business for long term. The company Papaya is even a temporary entity created by its parent company to contain the risk of bankruption.
I stopped playing since Febuary and saved the money which otherwise would bespent on uwo. I bought an iphoneX instead, played World Of Warships blitz and Darkness Rising and enjoyed good quality pvp every night. 1v1, 3v3, 7v7 like BC style without having to grind too much.
I said that as one of the former UWO league champion team members. UWO had its niche appeal but it has lost its charm due to agressive cash grab from hosts.
Completely agree, moved on to other games too. Just look at the state of Warrock, different game same publishers. Apparently that link to our forum is still on there for weeks, they also suffer a population loss however Papaya isn't doing anything to pull in new members.
I'd recommend switching to GW2 if you're tired of UWO, it has a massive playerbase no server maintenance and a big PVP scene with scaled gear, you can properly participate in PVP against veterans from lvl 3, it's honestly amazing. Oh and it's completely F2P with expansions that are not game breaking for F2P players.

Or raise the sales limit for good in bazaar and comp shop so we don't have to sit in Seville shouting wtb/wts

I pray for this game’s future. Amen.
