Why does the durability on items go down when they are not being used? When I am not doing any battle my armor and weapons durability goes down even when I am not wearing them, why is this? Would it be possible to fix this problem?

    Items that have an "effect" listed do not degrade, while those that have no "effect" do degrade. It does not matter if they are equipped or not; if you are sailing with an item that degrades, it degrades. (Exceptions are ship parts - they do not degrade if not equipped, and they degrade when used in battle or subject to cannon fire/melee).

    An item with an "effect" will degrade (usually by 1) if the "effect" is used.

    If I am not mistaken, the higher the storage rank, the slower a degradable item degrades. There is also a ship skill that slows down degradation of ship parts. I had a ship with it on Gama and it makes a difference.
