Email notification, updates and rewards

Was brought up in another thread and I will post here as it may be a good way to entice old players to return.
Does papaya generally email the player base for in-game events,
ESF, notifications, new ages or even ticket contents to our emails?

Unless
I have something turned off in my settings; I have never seen anything
come to my email from Papaya advertising this game whatsoever. I would
welcome emails from papaya for events as it would certainly keep myself
and most players up-to-date on current or up-coming events and may even
entice some to come back.

Perhaps advanced notifications on new ships, EIB's, ESF, events etc sent to my email may get me and I'm almost 100% certain other players excited.
