    never ceases to amaze me how cheap people are that they absolutely refuse to use blue flags ($1.50 each or free if you use in game money), or just take people's advice on how to properly avoid/deal with pirates in the game...

    You really are worrying about nothing.

    omg, just having them isn't the point. you need to learn how to use them properly...

    1. before you sail anywhere check maritime guild for pirate activity.
    2. when you enter a sea zone do a search to see if pirates are around or you can sail in different routes that pirates don't frequent.
    3. IF you are even found (low likely hood) and get attacked by pirate, you use tibs (10min protection in hostle waters) 3 tribs gives you 30min that should be enough time to get though any zone. If pirate persists and/or if there are many pirates in zone and you absolutely can't get away THEN you use a blue flag. but only as last resort. A couple of blue flags could theroetically last you weeks if you don't pop them like candy and only use them if necessary.
    4. There are MANY bounty hunters in the game. just go to the guild to see who's on the BH list and pm them for help as an escort. With a good BH at your side you would never ever have to use blue flags and/or tribs.
    5.make sure you have good storage skill and/or land battle skills to for pirates into deck battle. Also ship skills like improved/camoflage hold will stop/reduce plunder. Most pirates really only attack now for noto since there's so many items that aren't plunderalbe now.

    I don't agree with farming white players and can understand your reserve but seriously there's not that many pirates in the game that are active (i know i'm a BH and have a hard time even finding pirates now), you will probably sail for the full trial period and never run into one. But if you do then as long as you are prepared, the encounter won't/shouldn't be that bad. It's really only people to don't prepare properly for sailing into the unknown that will be affected. Just don't be one of those people.

    Tribs dont work in lawless waters, and players can turn waters lawless fast by farming their own white alts (with no re-attack cooldown)

    Countering with deck battle comes with risks too - if you loose, the pirate can plunder the gear you need to take along to be good at it, and IIRC plunder during deck battle bypasses storage skill. But OFC it cuts both ways - if you are good at it you might give the pirate a nasty surprise and bypass her storage skill. As for unplunderable gear - both can do that.

    In a fleet EVERY member has to have a blue flag to prevent attack,

    Best way to "fight" pirates (if you dont want to) is to avoid meeting them. If you have to enter a port they camp considere regestering a nearby port as base and get towed there while logged out.

    Be aware of the seas around you - if you spot a pirate early enough you can log out - you got 15 seconds to escape that way.

    @Crazyhunter2003
    I used a Big Trading Carrack for spice trading in India patch, never had a problem too big i could not handle coming from the pirate dillema.

    P.s. If you owned 3 cars or more, would you only maintain 1 - same goes for alts :)
