Hey guys this thread, is to share your exhilarating stories from the game, and have a good time.

Once I restarted, as I was doing advanced maritime finals, I got into a melee battle, with units as 9 vs 61, but ty to tactics, and gunfire, I was able to win. That's one of the most exciting  fights i have had. share yours below. :)

The first time I went to Southeast Asia was with some company mates to do a spice run back in 2013. I had never been outside of Europe alone, so it was a pretty exhilarating 3 hours (over an hour there and back). Since then I've played the game off and on, putting it down out of boredom or frustration but still always making my way back to it at some point or another. I have only ever made it to India completely on my own.

I have an interesting story about dealing with pirates from before the reset.

I was setting sail from Sakai with my hold full, and i saw a ship in the distance approaching.  I was in a bit of a rush and didn't want to get stuck sitting around in Sakai, so I recklessly took my chance and proceeded southward.  Luck was not with me, and it turned out that it was in fact a pirate.  It was too late to turn back to Sakai, and I wouldn't make it to another port.  I didn't have any blue flags or tributes.  My company was also dead at the time, so I couldn't arrange for an escort.  So I attacked the NPC fleet south of Sakai, sailed around in circles until their cannons sunk my ship, and then sat there with a sunken ship (it turns out sailors don't need to eat or drink if a ship is sunken).  I figured the pirate would eventually get bored and leave me alone.  Unfortunately, the pirate ended up calling a friend to sail back and forth at the entrance to the strait.  I think they may have thought themselves outside of my field of vision.  Eventually, one of them got bored and left, but the other one decided to sink his ship right next to mine.  At this point, I just minimized the window and started playing another game for an hour.  After an hour, the pirate was still there, but I figured he wouldn't be constantly alert.  I didn't want to shipwreck and lose my nanban trade goods, so I decided to take the chance that the pirate wasn't paying attention after an hour of sitting around.  I hightailed out of there, made my way to Korea (I figured that if the pirate noticed I was gone, he was least likely to try to chase me down before I reached port if I went west; it was also the fastest way to leave the pirate's field of vision), and logged off for the day.

Sorry Sweetie but I have no characters in UWO. I know, I know players seem to think every alt is me but I no longer play the game. Poor Wsp and Cpc miss me in game.

When someone takes to trolling the forums of a game they no longer play, it leaves everyone else wondering, "How damn sad is that persons life?"

UWO had been the best and most unique MMO available. the ability to trade or collect all the components and level up the skills to craft everything from sails, cannons, skill improvement items all the way up to and including highly usable and competent ships. To be able to put in the time and effort to become lvl 20 ship builder, alchemist, tailor, chief +++. to find unique treasures while fulfilling quests in East Asia that really made a difference to a players game. That joy of discovery, the pleasure of creating something that others either do not want to create or haven't put the time and effort in building the skills to do so.  That sense of achievement, that your efforts have value.

However, crafting has been nerfed and is now pointless. All the effort in leveling up the skills and then refining them is a neat bragging right but adds nothing to the game anymore. Even high level ship building skills are now not worth having. But there is still trading and Adventure right ????

Having started in NM days I have experienced being farmed by trollrats. Many pirate players have some personal code that says they will let a dead fish go. There are also many that just love an easy kill.

I have not played since this rule came into effect. I will keep the toons and wait till player farming is no longer an option. the uniqueness of the game has been lost and I morn it. But it has allowed me to explore other MMO's and I life what I am seeing elsewhere.

I want to know how crafting has been nerfed and is now pointless. I'm aware of the changes they made to shipbuilding but how was the other stuff affected?

I suppose that UWC items have supplanted many of the ships, ship parts, and weapons that can be crafted (at least, this is my impression based on what others have said or posted).  The diminishing population also plays a role.  London used to be a decent alternative to Seville before the reset, but it has seemed to be struggling to me.

I'd think that there is still a demand for furniture, decorative costumes, casting materials, and aide food among other things.

I plan to max all of my crafting skills, though it will take me a long time since I'm a more casual player.  So far I only have base RR16 storage.  I plan to work on handicrafts next.  I'd be happy to take requests in the future once I finish the grinds.

Before I started playing UWO a few years ago, I was still playing Uncharted Waters 2 New Horizons on my pc. The upgrade in graphics with UWO is really incredible, I can't believe there are people that actually complain about the graphics. They are just right, and this is an awesome game.
