Few questions about getting new ships and player made ships

KantallKantall Posts: 5Member Beginner
I currently have 14 adventuring, 28 trade, 14 combat and am looking to get a new ship with the obvious choice being the Big Trading Carrack, I'm using the trade graduation ship right now. I figure since shipbuilding is in the game there's probably an advantage to buying from players instead of NPCs, plus I see loads of ships I can't buy anywhere so maybe they are crafted-only?

My questions basically are...

What's the best trading ship I can get right now for doing the Caribbean?

With my last ship someone adjusted it so I had less crew and more cargo space, how do I do that?

What're the advantages of player-made ships?

How do I actually find shipbuilders?

At the start of the game you are best to just purchase from the shipyard. Your levels change quite quickly so you are constantly upgrading to get more cargo space. You can save money by getting someone in your company to build the ship for you.

If you want to spend a few dollars the beginner packs are good. You can get a Custom Clipper with a lower rank requirement.

An R5 shipbuilder in your company will do a simple refit for you on any ship. It can slightly increase your cargo capacity.

Research the Arms Trader job on the wiki. It can get you the shipbuilding skill. Even with just R1 you can build your own ships instead of buying from the shipyard.

Talk to the people in your company about ships. See what they use and how they upgrade them. If you've got no one in your company who can help then join a better one!

If u are not putting in real $$ in to the game be ready to dish out a ton of ingame money because with how broken and over priced everything is any more

U are looking at 25-30 mill per ssip alone so 75-90mill + just in ssip and thats not getting in to when u start pushing the mods over max

let alone the cost of the parts u need u could be looking at any where from afew 100mill to 1bill+ just in shipparts depending now what parts u are using.

player greed has wrecked the server eco.and it has a huge effect on the player base but people dotn care as long as they can sit there and one day sell there ship they will do anything to keep prices  up so others cant mod as well because of how costly it is.

With how bad the play eco is make shore before u mod something its a ship thats going to last u a long time before the next one.

    Stop whining chronofox !

There are plenty nice ships out there that can be had for reasonable prices. And once you are no longer a lowbie newbie, a few hundred mil or a bil isnt really hard to accumulate and any decent company will have members offering to build ships for other members at cost or less. Company mates should also be willing to help you with advice on how to make the ducats needed.

You might not be able to afford that pimped up Bughatti Chiron, but a nice base model Porshe 911 should be easily within your reach. isnt that good enough ?

Interesting how many people complain about how high the prices are AND how easy it is to make too much money.

lol its only easy if u are running 3 toons or a cash player other wise no its not really.
Also funny when telling some one new what there getting in to and telling them the truth = whining

the ones that are doing the over pricing  will try to justify it any why they can.

Actually you dont have to do much more than log in to get a billion.

Recently we got 350m items in the daily login reward tickets (and 100m items too).
Right now we can get 2 LSS every week for doing a bonus quest (easy) per day PLUS 2 even more expensive items every 2.5 weeks (5 sun/sat days)).

So right now ANYONE can get about 2 billion ducats playing for less than half an hour 4 out of every 5 workdays (mon-fri) plus saturday and sunday - thats about 2 weeks of very casual play. Good luck trying to make that much spending tbhe same effort doing nanban.

So your statement about nanban is just plain WRONG.
And even if it was true, nothing is keeping you from doing just that - except you being too fat and lazy to do the effort to generate the ducats. Your "poverty"'s only cause is your choice to be poor.

    > What're the advantages of player-made ships?
I believe the same ships that can be bought at shipyards, will have better stats if bought from players, just because they're player-built.

    > How do I actually find shipbuilders?
Can find them in merchant world chat. Say something like "WTH R20 SB" (but be ready to pay, 10-50m per 1 fleeting, mostly, although some could agree to help for free; no sense in hiring an SB if you don't have spare 50m), or look for them announcing themselves. They're rather common, mostly in Seville.

If I were you, I will stick with school ships till you can afford to buy better ship or build one because u won't get good ship till level 40's or so.
