Blue Flags in Lawless Waters

Just an idea but -

I think Blue Flags should not work in Lawless Waters.

This would make players have to choose long routes around Lawless Sea Tiles to get to there destination..

Or risk it and take the quick route through lawless seas and still be attackable even with blue flag.

Think this would make Piracy not such a bummer since nearly every ship you see has blue flag enabled.

On the Anti-Piracy side.. it would give Adventurers/Traders more of reason to want to hire Bounty Hunters for protection and paying them to hunt pirates in order to make sea tiles Safe Waters instead of Lawless.

Think it'd be a fun idea for maritime players but I'm sure adv/trade players would not like it of course.

I use them to do adventure, however my alt does not and I pay tributes so that I can at least subsidize their efforts.

Most ships I encounter do NOT have blue flags.

Let them have choices to not have their gameplay interrupted by someone else. There are plenty other people to attack.

Blue flags will lose their meaning completely like that.

I have suggested this before. I disagree it would make flags meaningless.

However, times have changed. The last few occasions when I've been pirated it was by high-level Maritimers in 'god' ships with performance so unrealistic they could have been in modern destroyers.

It's too one-sided now. We need all the protection we can get.

Always moving the goal post wasn't it just 2 months ago that they cried to make traders farmable causing a mass exodus of players almost collapsing the game then they reduced the time to 30 mins immunity after being sunk as a compromise NOW they want blue flags to no longer work in lawless

When it comes to piracy like I said when Navers rules were implemented it will NEVER EVER be enough just cry cry cry until all waters are permanently lawless blue flags and tribs removed, all players can be farmed and all gear and items plunderable and even this probably won't be enough they will complain trader ships are too fast or pirates should have tribs against bounty hunters smh...

Ssshhh it's all gonna be allright no need to overdramatize this.

It's not that great of an idea, those flags are made to protect players that spend real money on the game for a certain amount of time. And as a pirate I get kinda sad when I see one, but on the other hand they support the server and that's awesome :)

You are really blowing thing out of proportion there cpc. Yes Naver wanted that but everyone knew it wouldn't work. Either way not ONE trader got farmed during the trial period. And the fact is, is that it was proven that you couldn't be farmed because of the green flag period and just having tribs...

While I do agree pirate activity isn't that great recently, it is still possible to do and there are plenty players that are sailing without blue flag (doesn't have to be traders always). Not to mention that the risk for doing piracy has been relaxed compared from the past and can do limitless kills.

I still desire they do something to buff the rewards for pirates and bounty hunters to encourage PvP in those waters. Unfortunate, many of our proposals got rejected due to the fact that most involves mechanic changes.

Blue Flags are also used to prevent your adventure/sailing being interrupted by npc nearby, not just players. Even pirates uses blue flag to sail safe in crowded places to prevent being attacked by bounty hunters whenever they want to take a break from piracy etc. By restricting it, you basically affect everyone and destroy the sales of Papaya too :x

The trade-off at least is... by using blue flags, you are unable to engage battles regardless in PvP or PvE (except in Ganador, BC, EPF or ESF).

Maybe there could be 2 different levels of protection. That is, a completely safe blue flag, and a somewhat safe "purple" flag where no more than 2 items and/or limit on the money that could be taken.
I wouldn't mind being attacked and losing a couple of items, and some money too, if that helps to make the game more interesting for everyone.
I do agree with making Bounty Hunting more profitable.  For Example, maybe every weekend, a Fleet could be formed with the Caribbean as a destination and the fleet would be protected by Bounty Hunters.
Anyone have any other "out of the box" ideas to make the game more interesting?

I really dont think I'm blowing this out of proportion didn't many players just not log in during that time? Didn't they threaten to disband their company if changes were made permanent? Didnt they just avoid sailing during that time?

    Everything I said was factual...

The main point is this and this is what pirates fail to understand even if no traders were farmed just the notion that you CAN be farmed is enough to hurt the population or cause people to severly alter gameplay ie no sail. Now while it wasn't farming like pirates get the changes were still significant enough to cause significant damage to game that already lost a lot of players due to the wipe and old age.

Here's an example imagine you live in the peaceful suburbs ppl jogging walking their dogs etc. At night then you hear on the news a mass murderer was spotted in the area....NOBODY was attacked just spotted wouldnt those ppl stop going out because of it? Of course. ..same with those pirates changes

The more pirates cry for the more damage it does same goes for all classes too Balance is needed

Not knocking pirates but the more you try to tip the scales of balance out of wack in your favor complaining about every single little got damn thing about piracy begging for dev intervention over and over the more unbalanced the game gets and the more ppl leave or alter gameplay to avoid you... Traders had it unbalanced with 100% improved hold and 24 hr immunity and it was widely rejected because it made pirates leave.

So it's not just people picking on piracy traders had their time in the unbalanced fire too and by now  trying to mess with blue flag mechanic its just trying to screw with the game again and hurt the population again...

Like i said "everyone knew it wouldn't work".

Even though i don't agree that any white player should be repeatedly attacked, i like that the company at least is listening to players and is willing to try out different aspects of the game (even for short trials). When this game first came out it was set up that way but it didn't work for the whole environment so they changed it. All papaya is doing is testing what an environment like that is like so they can understand more of the game from different perspectives since it was at one time like that. To find a good balance, they have to see it from both sides, now i guess 30min is good. I don't play enough as trader to know if that is fair but most seem to be ok with it.

The more pirates cry for the more damage it does same goes for all classes too Balance is needed

I can agree that back earlier in the server there was more outspoken people on but ever since Naver left, everything has been pretty quiet. I think the current population is generally happy with everything for now or just don't have time to care. One thing i will say is that the game needs more players so i hope this Steam start soon will fix that.

I guess " If it isn't broke, don't fix it " applies here.

Only thing I have ever wished for was for the spoils (tributes) to have some decent reward items that are usable.
