OGP Wiped...?

Hi fellow captains. I was an active player in Netmarble and OGPlanet days (username was Nasheru), literally spent thousands of dollars on the game for me and my girlfriend (now wife) and wrote the maritime battle guide that got me 2nd place in the guide writing competition (1st place was shipbuilding guide) and won me a nice cash ship. Was planning on checking in to see how things are going but from what I gathered so far... old accounts have been wiped!?!?!?!?!

If so that's truly depressing...
BTW when created a dud account to have a look at how things are, noticed the game looks deserted?

I am still willing to re-post the guide if current players are keen.

    Yup, old accounts got wiped, bummer, but most all of us accepted the change and started again.
    There was period where old players got some compensation, but that time expired quite a while ago.
    Still, you might want to message Support and see if there is anything they can still do to encourage previous players to play again.T 
    Your past knowledge will help you move quickly back up to where you can enjoy the game again, and belonging to a company that is looking for experienced noobs, will help as well.
    I can recommend my company, Sea of Heart., and I am quite sure others will recommend theirs as well.
    A maritime battle guide would be quite helpful.  We all know how to battle, but some players are a lot better at it, than others, and getting a few tips wouldn't hurt.
    The school is different as well, and there are some comments about it on this forum.  Please take a look at the comments, as they will help you move through the school faster.  The school is a lot faster now, but more confusing for beginners, and everyone is hoping KOEI will do something to help real noobs understand what they need to do.

    There are still quite a few players, it's just that alot of people have their old knowledge from GAMA or are following guides, which mean that certain places have high concentration of players since they're all doing everything as efficient as possible.

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hmmm has the game changed so much that grinding has been massively shortened? Cause I recall quite a few skills took forever to rank to competitive levels even using the most efficient method possible and with NC boosted items... In any case I'm now a dad and can no longer commit to gaming like I used to (was just planning to come back casually and maybe join some PvP fun if I could buy some up-to-date ships). Will probably give Uncharted Waters 5 a go although it looks really different to this game.

    I'll post the guide in a separate thread although I have no clue how much the game has changed - brief googling shows STEAM ENGINE ships wow...

    Most of those people are just lashing out because of the reset, not because they don't enjoy the game. I don't listen to that anyways. I'm an independant girl who makes her own opinion. To me it doesn't matter who's hosting the game or whether there is 10 people on the server or 10000, i play because i love the game period. But that is the difference between you and me... You're just a follower while I'm a leader lol.

    Would you like to make a full survery on how many active players , old player coming back ,and the rating on papaya , how many quit during papaya and so on and so forth.  Ofc for you, as u said it doesnt matter at all because even it a crap server with bad connection, you will still play.

    But as for all my posts, its actually quite low considering thats for over a year and most of them are dealing with scub trolls like you. I'm a forum pirate that plunders peoples credibility and your little 10 posts don't mean shite here because you have NO opinion lol

    I can't understand these people who've stopped playing the game but who have to keep coming back to the forum to see if we've given up yet.

    It's sad. I think they really want to play the game again. But they'd rather see the server fold than have to admit they are wrong.

    It's been 12 months. Papaya have done good - in general. And I've had a blast.

    You need to move on FN* and certainly stop trolling the forum.

    it truly means there a few hundred trolls that doesnt like papaya. Why?  we all know this game wouldnt be running forever anyway, it not a huge gamebase. And if u think payaya really care , they only care how much astro you top per month.

    @ssd21345 every game out there would be better with a higher pop. This game however doesn't necessarily need it. Maritime, yes this game most certainly needs more people but if you are a trader and/or adventurer than this game is as fun playing solo as it would be playing in a fleet. It's really up to the individual if they are looking for a heavily populated game or not. But for me it's more about the game than the people, so yes... I'd prefer a larger pop here but I'm here more to play. That's probably why i don't hang around seville all day or engage in all the banter on WC lol.

    I was disappointed that my character and ships were gone, but enjoy the game enough to start again. My real issue is how can a low level solo player hope to partake in any of these special events or rewards? I just re-started so I might be missing something.
    I suppose I should read more in the forums before I get too frustrated.

    Most events by far can be taken part in solo. The only one requring you to be in a fleet I can think of is ESF.
    Many of them can also be done by characters with moderate levels.
