Ship advice - Refitted Susan Constant

I was lucky enough to get a Refitted Susan Constant on a ticket.

It's potentially quite fast, carries a lot of guns, a large crew, has a good hold capacity, and a low sailing requirement (Trade 35). As such it seems it could be a trade, adventure or battle ship.

I'm going to use it for adventure - my adv toon is currently R40.

For the moment I'm just going to add useful skills to it. I've got several questions:

1. It comes with an original skill I don't want. Can I remove it and replace it? How many original skills can I add to it?

2. I'm making EA an optional skill. Can it have more than one optional skill?

3. Longer term I'd like skills like haul assist - which don't appear on the list at the SY. Does that mean the RSC can't have such skills?

Final question. Would it be better to trade the RSC for an adv-oriented ship? Bearing in mind my adv toon is only R40.

Thanks for the help.

    1:
You can reset for free at any Shipyard.
2 skills is the max, unless you use the grading boosts for another 2. (making it 4)

    No, 1 is the max.

    3.
Yes from default, however you can inherit 1 skill from another ship onto the RSC by grading.

    4.
Probably, it has nice sails, wr, turn armour all that good stuff, but it has a high base cargo hold, which means it won't accelerate as fast as an adventure ship (might affect top speed too, not entirely sure).

My tip, sell the ship ~4-5b.
Keep that money and work your way up the ship tree as an adventurer. You're near the Clipper which is a fast ship and can be build ingame!
You could invest the 4b in a VW as it gives a speed boost.

But my general recommendation is to not buy UWC ships but play with FS ships. Modding and grading a normal FS ship can be easily up to 6b. If you'd get a UWC ship it'd be 6b for the ship + 6b for modding & grading while it only has very small bonuses to stats.

And as someone else said somewhere on the forum here:
UWO is a marathon, not a sprint. :)

I can't bring myself to get rid of the ship - there aren't that many about. It's nice to have something a bit different.

I expect Gazi might have something to say about hold-size and acceleration - he's probably done a test :))

I might try it out against the 52 clippers two of my other toons use.

Thanks for the rest Boo. Shipbuilding is still a dark-art to me. My crafter has got R5 SB and that's enough for the moment.

Yes this is a long term game - as someone else said, it's about the journey not the destination. My toons, if they pooled their bank accounts, would have about 750 mil between them. I don't need 4-5 billion - that feels like too much of a sprint.
