Historial - naval related - stories in history

Hi all,

One of the things I appreciate a lot about this game is the fact that many stories are based on true historical facts. I love history and so also Naval history. I've read a lot of stories that I thought were intresting and even inspiring  to me. They even lead me to pick names for my ships and characters hehe...

One of my favorite stories, which I believe was a great story was about the Swedish- Lubeck war back in the 1500's. You should check the link below to find out for yourself. If one day UWO Launches that ship, it'd be definatly in my docks.

So how about you, do u guys know about great stories that might have lead you to fins a name for your ingame ships?
Or do u know just another fascinating naval story out of the past?

Feel free to share!

Yours,
 Flo!

KANATTA also has many naval related stories, few of them are true however.

Extra Credits does video series by the way, that one on Yi is 5 videos long, the man is a badass. On a side note, Yi's armour is in the cove, the Dooseokrin-gap, its strange that it gives + melee skills seeing as his tactic was to avoid melee (but i guess it would be less desirable if it wasn't). This next one is only a stand alone video about Cheng I Sao, possibly the greatest pirate to ever live.

The Aubrey and Maturing series, written by Patrick O'Brien, are excellent. Although they are fictional characters, they are based on historical events and the letters and journals of sailors at the time. I've noticed a number of characters named after both of the protagonists.
