To return or not to return

That is the question...
I began UWO just after the addition of Oxford while at gpotato

I left UWO not too long after the Gold Rush update, about 3 .5yrs later (7 or so years ago)... to date... only UWO and in more recent years Ark Survival Evolved have grabbed me by the short n curlies for such extended play times.

Atlas was going to be my mmorpg UWO.... but well crap.... its not.

So are there any players that like me.... left for a long time... and returned..

Are you still enjoying UWO... is Seville still the trading mecca.... is CPC still terrorizing land battles and forum admins...

In short.... do i?

    Why ask?

Just dip your toe in (download the game give it try)

If it no longer appeals to you then just uninstall.

    If it does... Welcome back!
Been a lot of changes since, but plenty of vets on the forums and in the game to give your guidance, if need it.

If you enjoy it - recommend it to your friends and grow the UWO community :-)

All the best in your endeavours!

Since you haven't played UWO for awful long time, there are shitload of contents that you will need to catch up.

    Battle Campaign
    Epic Pirate Feud
    Immigrant
    Railway
    Factory
    Astronomy, Breeder, and Steam Engineer
    Rare Trade Goods
    Sagres school
few new Episodes ie Voyage Prince, Atlantis, Justine, Alias, etc

UWO's biggest weakness has to be school because it's no longer friendly to newbies,so I recommend you to watch player's tutorial video.

Only if school has good tutorials, players won't quit so suddenly. At least, Sailor's Guide will tell you ie next to unlock permit, circumnavigation,. remind you of quest, etc.

id say the game is in a really odd place i just started back my self and after looking in co shops for x items in seville to see a huge amount of gear listed at100m or 50m that normally would never go for that much and its not just a few items its a ton of stuff oddly more thin i have ever seen in the past.

That and lisbon co had next to nothing in terms of gear at all like 90% co shops  had nothing in the gear tabs .

Because the game is now completely based on a cash shop, Uncharted Mastercard online. There gives almost no ingame items that play any role in UWO now, almost everything you can buy with a credit card much better in a cash shop, that is the reason why you see 100 attack weapons for 50 mil,..The entire game have so little population left, it's like a private server, literally. I guess even a private server would have a bigger population as UWO have now and I assume sooner or later there will private server(s) appear. You can notice the same few people in world chat(s), usually they still try to sell each other god like ships or try to get one,...and that's it.  Nevertheless, if you are enthusiastic about the game, you can still enjoy adventure or exploring the game, although entire game content is now useless, they have render with insane cash shop policy, any kind of activity, all ingame content..., all adventure,..to death or meaningless - literally. Of course here in forums you have self-appointed guardians and they will - as they did defend papaya, they always had some kind of crusade against common sense...but does not matter anymore, the server is already empty, also piracy,..does not matter anymore  at this point, the self-fulfilling prophecy has come true. I still sometimes do a bit of adventure or something out of enthusiasm, glory days,..:p, but that's it.

Hey if some people want to spend too much money, that's their problem.
So unless you intend to battle everyone all the time, you don't need a Superior La Mort, or an Advanced Satisfaction.
A Light La Mort will give you 95% of the benefits of a Superior La Mort and cost 80% less.
The game has a great following of friendly people willing to help newbies, and lots of different avenues to explore, but I do agree the Sagres School needs improvement.
New players are the life blood of any game, and not enough has been done to attract, and keep, new players. playing.  I wish Papaya would spend more time attracting new players, reward them for any accomplishment when they are just getting started to keep them interested. AND, make the school system less confusing.

Hello! I think that it may be worth a try. I went inactive for a while too and am still a noob, but I actually really enjoy the game when I play it. Im unsure about the Secille and CPC business, but its still a pretty decent game. If you join back, be sure to send me a message and maybe we can play some time.

How did you like the school?
Suggestions for improvement from a somewhat knowledgeable beginner?
    What was confusing?
     Constructive input always helps.
    Appreciate the feedback.

Knowing what to expect from the school.... the only confusion is that the original schools are still there.

Id have thought that new players would spawn in Sagres regardless of nation..... poor old venetians have a long way to go.

Besides that... the schools are as long winded... but as informative as ever.... if - you can be bothered reading it all.

In the end... it was much faster then having to do nation/groningen schools for eg.
