How do i check if a certain ship is well built ?

I got my hands on a clean 0/6 expedition tea clipper this evening.. but before im gonna invest the 41 ssip and the parts on it...

Is there any clear way to see if it is well built or not? Ive heard that a ship can be configured wrong right from the start is that true?

And is there any way to check this ?

Ive checked in the ship building tool and the amount of cannons are minimal and the crew space is at min too. Making it 840 cargo..

Is that okay and is there nothing to worry about? Or should it had been configured differently ?

I dont need to know perse what parts i should put on it(since thats part of the fun),but only if this is a good configuration to build on.

I really like to check it before im really gonna invest in it .

    If you are not sure about it and don't know any good ship builder's yet, the best thing to do is go on world chat and ask for a CA. You might have to try at different times for when one is on. Most CA's are good with ship building and/or can refer you to a reliable source. gl :)

    Well if it a 0/6 and it is a ticket ship there is a not a whole lot that can be configured. Sounds like the crew/cannons have been maybe refitted at the shipwright but that is an easily reversible thing that can be altered with just R5 shipbuilding (or a fleet with one). I would not be concerned in that situation.
