Where is the clever one? Linux solution needed

here is my plea to the Linux or UWO masters who get things done :)

    I love this post because I've currently started day trading myself and I want to bring stock investing to UWO. Im currently working out the kinks on investing in companies in UWO that would be awesome im going to post more info on this later in another forum maybe you can help... Anywho a solution I can think of two, one MIGHT work one will for sure work.

    Solution 1: I think there is a way to manually install updates I remember very vaguely hearing about manually install updates maybe  there is a way to do it without running the installer..  Not sure if it was Walker or Huseyin you can ask them about it and see if they know how to do it.. Since its linux it may be harder.  This solution might work not sure



    Solution 2:  Personally I think you are going about this all wrong  Instead of running Linux to have metatrader and UWO run on it because metatrader crashes in windows 10. You should instead reinstall windows 10 back on your machine ditch Linux altogether install UWO and then install a virtual machine running  Windows 7 or even XP and install your metatrader in the virtual machine. By the looks of the program metatrader it doesn't look like it's too graphic intensive it just looks like it pulls a lot of real-time data but if it's running inside of a virtual machine it shouldn't crash your windows 10. Windows 10 is pretty stable when you don't run a bunch of crap on it so I think that if you did run MetaTrader in the VM it would run perfectly fine and then you could still player UWL. This solution of sure will work and it's a lot easier and its free there tons of free VM software for windows.

    Just to nitpick - daytrading isn't investing, its speculating.

    And solution 3: Get a cheap laptop and run UWO on that.

    @carlalex, yes we are not investors :) We simply grab a few points a day by hunting stops, and yes I'm starting to come around to the idea of just getting a second machine for playing.

    @CrzyPsycoChick  ya, both you and carlalex may be right..it may just be easier to run VM or 2nd machine.  Metatrader is similar to UWO as it can run on the simplest machine :) I will try to PM you with FB details...let me know if you need any trading help either for ingame ideas or live accounts.

    Ended up going with virtual machine running windows 7. There were a few hoops to jump through to get it to see directx, but i was able to install and log in, so I'm happy enough for the moment. Eventually a 2nd machine will be the way to go.  Thanks for the ideas :) I just forced myself to learn mql4 to semi-automate our trading, really am not ready to take on a new language (linux witchery)  just yet :)
