ShipBuilding XP

MitsuHikaruMitsuHikaru Posts: 7Member Beginner
Hi I rem that previously SB xp gained is based on a certain formula (eg. total lvls *x/y) - i dun rem the exact. But now when i build a ship at SB lvl1, it based on the days required to build it, regardless of the lvls of the ship.

Is the formula changed? Pls advise!

    Yes it changed about 6 months ago. As you observe it's now based on build time. The net effect is that ship building is easier to grind at high levels, but slower at lower ranks. Good luck.

    Once you reach SB Rank 7, move to Venice and start building Venetian Galleass until you get max rank.

    The new changed formula

    XP= Building days * Your Rank * 0.525
    (Round Down to the nearest ones!)

    e.g) when building Frigate at your 14 rank
           20 days * 14 rank * 0.525 = 147

          when building Frigate at your 20 rank
           20 days * 20 rank * 0.525 = 210

    You can obtain a lot of  XPs  when your rank is higher and building days are more!

    Don't use half time consuming Oxford skill when you are grinding SB.  The points which you can get to make 1 ship without oxford skill is more than those of which you can obtain to make 2 ships with oxford skill at the same time.

    ※ Highly Recommended Ships

    Frigate(20 days)
    Clipper(25 days)
    First Class Vaisseau(28 days)
    Galleass (30 days)
    Vene Gall(32 days)

    I have compared the cost per day of many ships and found that frigates give a very good balance between cost per build and proficiency gain. They take 20 days each, which is significantly longer than other similarly-priced ships. You still lose about 100k per build, but that's a lot less than for galleass' while still taking a decent amount of time.
    Koli.

    By the way, I believe the formula is now something close to:

    0.5 * number of days to build * base proficiency level.

    Using emergency requests doesn't help, since you only get proficiency for the actual number of days taken to build. And +SB items don't help as it only counts base level. So there's really no way to speed up the grind that I know of.

    the upper formula which i commented is well known to Korean server players.  but UWOJibi's "BASE Prof" is also right. Boosters and R20 SBer fleet are useless. Only your BASE rank affects profficency.

    @UWOJibi  i want to ask you something.

    What's that mean "emergency request"?  ESBR(cash item) or Oxford skill?  If you mean oxford skill,  yeah.. i agree with your comment.  I have experimented this.

    1st) making 1 ship without oxford skill
    2nd) making the same 2 ships with oxford skill (It takes same time nearly.)

    1st way was better!

    But in the case of ESBR,  there is a good way to finish SB grinding without time consuming.
    (Though it takes a lot of money)

    If you meet 3 or 4 times proff buff period, and you have a lot of money,
    you can choose Clermont(50 days) or Ottoman Galleon(43 days).
    In this case,  Not making ships  but "Attaching and Detaching Shipskill" is highly recommended.

    1) Clermont=> EA or Galley.  attach and remove continuously
    2) Ottoman Galleon=> Improved Gunport. attach and remove on and on
    (of course,  other ship skills are also good only if you can get FS parts easily)

    Yes.. This way is richmen's method but you can get enough time to enjoy other contents of UWO.

    If you use this ESBR method, you can be R20 SBer within 2 hours!!(only highly recommented proff buff period!!)

    Hey Nolah

    What do u meant by Attach/detaching shipskill? As in resetting of ship? Thks

    @MitsuHikaru  Hello Mitsu,  My IGN is Beomi,  nice to see you :)

    Attaching ship skill means "Add Optional Ship Skill" to a ship in SY
    Detaching ship skill: yes.  "Reset Ship Skill.

    In the case of Clermont, If you want to make those ships, you need a lot of Steam ship hulls(can make in IR port)
    or when you decided to choose "adding and resetting ship skill"way,  you need 1 clermont ship and many many
    non-cash FS parts.  You can choose one of two methods. In my opinion, 1 clermont and buying FS parts is easier.

    But,  the case of Ottoman Gall,  as I know, Custom Large 2 decked Row Boat is difficult to obtain. So I recommend you to choose "add and reset ship skill" way if you want to grind using Otto Gall.

    (As I mention before, this way is highly recommended only when you are in the buff period!!)
    ======================
    For your Exact information, I want to show you all these images.
    the exact newly changed formula is

    Proficiency=  SB days * Base Rank * 0.525 (Round down to the nearest Ones!!)

    Check the screen shots below (Images Source:  IGN Adventurer.N)

    image

     Boosting rank or R20 SB fleet doesn't effective when you are grinding SB skill

    image

     0.525 is the exact figure!! (not 0.5)

    image

    Round Down to the Nearest Ones!!

    e.g) 120.9 => 120
           120.3 => 120

    Yeah Nolah is right, doing the add/remove skills works well. i used it for the last 3-4 levels when the boost perion was still going and used a St. Lawrence at like 42-45 days so i was getting over 800 exp each time.
