Wow, the Dutch have dropped down to second place on the world standings. Venice only lost the ESF by 40 points but I'd have to say it was one of the more fun ESF's we had. Nice work France! We'll see how long they keep the lead.

Is not ESF, it is the historical event effect that brought them up, if you look at the outcome it both describes that influence of France increases in both West Medit and North Atlantic Ocean, which is like at least 10 ports that gains 20 % France influence.

And since these ports are highly developed, it significantly raised their influence. They surpassed The Netherlands since 3rd January. Besides, they were mercenary in this ESF, so their influence remains constant.

Ya i didn't think it coulda been the esf (at least not this past one), since it wasn't over when i first saw their listing. The esf was still fun and very close (only 40 point difference).

I tried that historical event when it was on but it didn't seem like there was more than the one battle. Was investing in ports part of it? If there was then I'll have to kick myself for missing out. That's ok though, for now I'll just have to 'let it go'...
