Ship race

Why is the join button greyed out on the ship race at 4:15 pm 1/15/2020 ? The website, clearly states that the race runs until 1/16/2020.  Thank you kindly for your reply.

    If you go to the World Record>Information page and then look for the ship race - you will see that it ended at 1:00 pm server time today on the 15th; although the time displayed in game will be shown in your local timezone...which is unusual, as most other things go by server time.

    And as you said - the ship race banner on the website indicates that it would end on the 16th, further adding to the confusion.

    I'm sure most people were going by that information and not the one in a more obscure location in game, so it's quite unfortunate that many people ended up missing out on participating, or at least as much as they had hoped.

    Ideally, they would extend the race by a day or two to compensate, and ensure that the event schedules are matching both in and out of game. Don't get your hopes up though.

    Thank you for your reply!  I am in the same time zone as the server, so that part is easy.  :)  I am not familiar with the world record information page, but will keep looking for it.  Thank you again.
