How to get to the training school?

I'm a new player playing as an adventurer in London, England. The game is directing me to a training school that is in a far away village, and it's hinted that I need to to take a liner to reach that destination, I don't quite understand how to actually do that.

you get to the liners when you are in dock, you'll see the icon on the lower left. I don't think you can enter without the port permit though (weird) depending on what country you start out with. Sarges was brought in after i had finished the school, so i haven't tried with new character yet.

Technically you can buy a Temporary Port Permit from the Shop and then use the liner, although, you need one level to 11 to use the Shop, so.......idk. Definitely a conundrum, meaning "Did not think it through" on KOEI's part.

    Indeed Twitch,

the current schooling system is not quiet well thought out and has some majors... I don't like the Sagres school system for multiple reasons. One is that it is no more attractive and intuitive to go trough. I also miss the trainees running around in all major countries and surrounding ports in their school outfits. It was much more accessible for them to ask you for help and for you to spontaneously help them out when you noticed they were stuck in game and for sure recruiting them was easier. I remember my very first time finishing the first, second and third school, it felt like a bigger achievement then when to endgame a character (however, I never got there so far).  Beside I miss the old schooling system a lot as it was a typical part of the game that made UWO UWO. Also it brings back a whole lot of nostalgic memories. F.e. I will never forget Sonja who sailed me around half the map back in the days. Unfortunately since Netmarble stopped hosting I haven't heard of her ever-since.

Well, I guess we'll never get our old schooling system back unfortunatly...

As for Briarwyn; The best advice I can give you is to work out one class to lvl 11, unlock the needed portpermits and head for Sagres. Before u do so, make sure to get help from a trusted player (even become his trainee).

Since you are in London, my company TheRoyalNavy is an option but no obligations ;)

     Flo!

I started last week, I think it is a bit simpler than that. This guide helped:

Exact steps will be slightly different if you start from a port other than Venice (I chose London) or pick a different career (I did start as a Merchant but have completed Sagres for both Merchant and Adventurer).
