This is ridiculous! I downloaded this game specifically to play with my girlfriend because she likes cute games like this.

Not only are same sex relationships not allowed, you have the gall to sell an item called a 'pride headband' for real money??

Can we not bring things like sexuality,religion,etc into the game ? it's only going to cause fighting and disagreements.I know that a lot of people just want to play a game and escape from reality.I don't play to have real world problems follow me around (such as petty fights,name calling,hatred,etc)I know that someone on here may jump to conclusions and assume that I have a problem with different groups,but that's not true.I just want to have one place that is free from labels,name calling,fighting,pettiness,etc.

@GloomySunday Being able to be openly gay/trans/religious/etc. online is part of the whole "escape from reality". Sadly, in many places, "reality" is oppression and silencing, so if your argument is to preserve the escape from reality, would it not be contradictory to (practically) silence minorities?

I'm openly gay, and I certainly would hate to play a game where I'm not allowed to be so because it would cause "real world problems" to leak into the game. Silencing someone to "protect" them is acknowledging that you're doing nothing to really fix the issue, and to do so because others don't want the issue is getting dangerously close to "oppression".What's the difference between "I don't like X it shouldn't be here" and "I don't mind X but it causes Y so it shouldn't be here"?

I'm not against this or anything (in fact, it would be nice if this got through to Actoz), but in Korea it's bold to even hint at a same-sex relationship, much less blatantly show one in media. While in the end it is the media's responsibility to promote this kind of thing, it's still a risky move that can end up costing Actoz a lot in their home country.

@shaddura You are genuinely not oppressed if you come from the west,and I never once said that people couldn't be who they really are.I'm just sick of every single thing having to be political or about people claiming that things should be about one or two groups.Never forget that there really are millions of people in this world who really DO come from societies/cultures that really DO oppress them.Throwing words around like "oppression" is really insulting just because you don't like something about a game that you choose to be a part of.

No one has ever said that people from all different groups couldn't play and be a part of LaTale.What you must realise is that some people do come from countries/culture that either refuse to admit that gay people (or any other group they don't seem to like)exist,or they do terrible things to them.Complaining about a game or a comment on the internet really won't change all those people's lives,they will still come from terrible places who do terrible things to people who just want to love someone of the same gender.

I really don't want any homophobia,sexism,racism,or any other type of ism on this site or game,but sadly there are people who still hold those prejudices.I want to protect people from horrible people like that,and no that doesn't mean I want people to lie or hide who they are.

I mean, I also come online to escape reality, but this game has a thing called "coupling" & "marriage" where you can couple people, so that in itself brings things from reality such as same-sex coupling and marriage. It should also be a place where people should be able to express themselves freely. Surely actoz didn't think they could get away with a coupling system only aimed at male/female couples without getting some complains, did they? lol

@GloomySunday Before claiming no one is genuinely oppressed in the west please keep in mind that correctional camps still exist and are basically described as torture by adults who experienced them. Not to mention the fact that teens being kicked out of their homes is also an issue. Sometimes all it takes is a hateful parent for someone to be oppressed. Not a government. To disregard these people because of where they are from is equally insulting.

But thats not the point of the thread. All people are asking for is to change some code around and most people just want to couple their friends or people they care about without having to pay out the arse for a overpriced gender coupon, a bunch of new hair and eye coupons to still not look the way they want because most hairs and eyes are /still gender locked/.

@BigAsh That's not true at all, Ash. Everything is not unisex, unless in Doala or trying stuff on in the fashion shop. Besides that, I can't have my female character wear equipment if it has a (M) on it and that goes for every other items. The unisex everything meant that even the clothing that says (M) or (F) on it can be worn by any character regardless of character.

Actually to correct you zain. Every fashion item in the game can be worn regardless of gender.

Previously the listed prereq would state in red the required gender. This has been removed from all fashion.

Even if the items name says "Male" "M/F", in the current version of the game, all characters can wear the outfit regardless. Even outside of the fashion shop.

It is somewhat amusing to see people fighting for the same-sex marriage in this game while in the real life the very institution of marriage is being regarded as something of a stone age; something old-fashioned and totally unnecessary. Because if two people love each other they can simply live together and be happy.

Why do you need to marry in-game? Can't you just hang out together and be content with that? You want stats and achievements? - For the love of Heaven just create an alt and make it your partner.

because it's fun. like dressing up your character or watching your arbitrary stats rise or racing for ranks or collecting for completionism. I'm aware that basically all of LT has forgotten how social of an mmo this is, but after taking a very long break from the game, it's very clear to me why LT was often jokingly considered a dress up game before datamining got big and they realized they could make more money off of making people buy pets and stats to pass gameplay paywalls. most other mmos barely even have buddy chats.

It's a game. It's fun. We do things in the game because they are fun. People ask for things and suggest things to make it funner. it's the breakthrough of the century. And yet every time people suggest something as simple as removing a single limitation, so long as it even mildly conerns some hot real life topic like gender or race or sexuality, they get all weird and make excuses and for little to no substantial reason fight against these suggestions. No, you can't find marrying in a game fun nor can you go out of your way to improve that functiooon becaaauuuuse it's stupid and doesn't matter according to me and myself OORRR the timeless Je Suis Anti Politics You're Scaring The Kids OORRR etc etc etc

like I know OP brought it up with a very political tone, but even that lane aside, it boils down to more customization, more fun. Nobody wants to abandon their main to make another chara just to marry because everyone knows it's a silly arbitrary thing BUT like everything else in the game it's also fun and you still want to participate in it. Nobody wants to use a bunch of half baked alternatives when we can literally just ask them to change it. They don't need to make new art, new UI images, new balances, new prices, new functions, new ANYTHING except to just change the qualifier. so wat. why does even asking for it have to be so difficult.

coming from someone who has little to no interest in even actual real life romance, much less marriage. i can't speak for OP but tl;dr for most of us it aint that deep aight

Because making an alt is double the effort and work and uses up two character slots just to get the same end result as changing a few lines of code. This *IS* something I did and its a pain in the arse.

Because even if you spend all the money to do a gender change and put on the same clothes, you still can't ALWAYS get the exact same pair of eyes/hair and even if you could, you still spent a ridiculous amount. When changing a few lines of code is easier.

"Why do you need the feature to marry in the game when its blah blah blah" Why does anyone, same sex or not have to be married in game? I mean its not actually sacred here, its just a bunch of lines of code made for entertainment and we're just trying to be entertained with less tedium.

Like good lord everyone's coming in here with a political agenda or boogeymans and im just here like "change the stupid code for our version only so i don't have to go through all these idiotic """solutions""" to couple my closest friends that just so happen to main characters of the same gender."

They put this on steam too and I told them pretty much the same:

1) It's up to Actoz

2) They probably just didn't care to implement it forever ago because of global politics and buisness

3) That is a very very small fraction of their playerbase, why alienate the larger group of paying customers? I don't agree with it but from a business sense that is reasonable.

4) This is a game that was marketed for children. As far as I am concerned a dating/marriage system is straight up idiotic in its own right.

People in the west tend to have more rights that a lot of other places in the world,and people wouldn't just get away with hurting you (or worse)If people did awful things to you,they would be arrested and punished for their crimes,and it wouldn't just be brushed under the carpet.There are many societies/cultures in this world that would take your life if they simply thought that you were a person they couldn't accept.Those people live under REAL oppression and we both know that.

Being kicked out of your house is not the same as losing your life,or literally being tortured.Many people face true prejudice on a daily basis,and that has nothing to do with a game.Some people are lucky enough to start their lives over again with people who truly love and accept them for who they truly are,but there are many in this world who never get that chance.

You have laws to protect you,you have rights that many people can only dream of,and you must remember that MANY people really do suffer in this world.

I'm only replying one last time on this subject.You have not read up on what went on in those correctional camps. There are indeed areas where the law is completely going unfulfilled; Becoming homeless does in fact run an extremely high risk towards dying, some areas are just a lot more dangerous to be homeless in than others.

The fact that you think people's suffering should be ranked as REAL or not is a terrible thought process that you need to re-evaluate, is what i meant by my statement. No one is trying to say the west has it worse however that doesn't take away anyone's right to be unhappy with anything else just because someone has it worse.

Anyways, this is far off subject enough, this whole thread is useless at this point.

Maybe you should read up on what's happening to gay people in Chechnya right now,and realise that people are being tortured and killed there too, but no one is doing much about it.You can criticise me and my thought process all you like because it really means nothing.It won't stop innocent people suffering or being victimised for who they are.Bad things happen all over the world and it gets hushed up because of narrow minded people (and no I didn't mean you)I haven't once heard you speak about the millions of people forced to conceal who they are simply because people cannot or will not accept them.I genuinely hope you live in a country that does care about your rights and happiness,and I genuinely mean that.

Homelessness can happen to anyone and it's not always about their sexuality.People in my country have been on waiting lists for twenty plus years and they still can't get a place to live.It's because the government don't give a damn about poor people.Myself and my family have nearly been on the streets many times in our lives and I really do mean that.If that ever happened we would get no help whatsoever and people wouldn't care one bit.

I know full well that homelessness kills because someone I know died two months ago.This man had no friends or even family to bury him,no one came to his funeral and society just looked the other way.I know that there's injustice in the west and I've never said there wasn't.I just think that people in other nations tend to have it far worse than we do,and the world turns a blind eye everyday.
