    yes it doesn't make it true but OGP had character data and now papaya informs us that the server reseted and our character data is lost. so either deal with it like an adult or cry and complain like a child

    That's why I loved games like Uncharted Waters or Final Fantasy.  I enjoyed persistence.

    with OGP's track record i would venture to guess they held it ransom. papaya refused to pay the ransom so it got deleated.

    @Evil that sounds like the most likely scenario. People hate that I talk about money so much but it's only my because they are in denial. In a World dominated by money only 2 things you can be certain of... 

    Money makes the world go round

    And

    Money Talks BS walks

    It is what it is... They couldn't afford OGP price for server data so then Papaya said  screw you... makes sense to me then Papaya prolly figured if they won't give es the data for a reasonable price we'll just wipe and fix server It's the only viable move if OGP was charging a crazy price for the server data..

    It will be interesting to know the date of the forum transfers (and by whom) of player-made game folios to a site we cannot identify.

    Lol you guys must be really gullible to believe in anything that Papaya says.
    I will spell it in caps so you cant miss it.

    OF COURSE THAT THE DATA WASNT DELETED.
    THEY NEED THE DATA TO DO THE FOUNDER BENEFITS.

    They will basically run a script over the character data to convert them into those packs. 
    Expect mistakes since they are noobs in uwo. THey might use data from the wrong characters and pick the lower levels instead of the high level characters instead.

    This is just their marketing method to try to retain some old uwo addicts from quitting. And some will fall from that. Anyway, if you're going to fall into it, at least you are now informed.

    Papaya is a scam.

    As much as i grieve for my lost characters, i think having the world data reset is really gonna be a heavy blow as well. 

    Not only are we gonna have to restart, but all of the ports are going to have to be redeveloped, national port permission will have to be earned by each nation for each permit to become available, national colonies in the carib will have to be redeveloped in order for stuff like good sails to be available, the list goes on and on. 

    I will try to reserve judgement on how i feel till i see the changes that were made, and I will decide if i feel the character wipe/world wipe was necessary to achieve those changes. As well I really hope these founder rewards are more than just worthless consumable trinkets that will clutter up my inventory. Please make them useful. Either way i will continue to play UWO for as long as its available, as i have been a player since early 2011.  Anyway, not sure how many of you will return but i hope to see you in game.

    I have been playing uwo since 2011. I never hybernate during play until now. I've got a lot of things from uwo. I have spent a lot of money to play uwo, especially for NC ships, by buying ASTRO. It's been 6 years I played uwo with a lot of struggle. therefore I feel unfair if it turns out nowadays papayaplay do a totally reset. maybe this complaint will be the same as the complaints of the old players, who with difficulty and faithful in playing uwo. I wish papayaplay consider the totally reset that will have to be done. Thank you for your attention.

    There is one thing I know. All your money to buy ships, all your money to buy items etc, was for nothing. After the relaunch we wil all start at zero.

    I don;t spent no money to this game again. I will play and will enjoy for some months.

    An then, everyone can say goodbye to UWO, cause nobody, or a lot less, will pay and Papaye don;t get the profit they expect.

    I am mad and happy about this cause in the one side it good so you can do thing over and try nice stuff. on the another hand all the time and efford we have put in to this game for us lose it all. and yes Iam not a eng speaking person. so here are another ppl here

    not sure we should all be blaming Papaya for this - OGP shut down so fast they may not of transferred anything other than out account details.

    This is obvious that Papaya not UWO chose to wipe server because we won't able transfer our ID to Papaya Play if UWO data is truly lost during OGP's discontinuation.

    That links won't help our cause to stop Papaya from reset UWO because UWO's fates are under Papaya's control whether you like or not.

    Apart from this (on topic again)
    - I believe, no matter how hard we are willing to undo the wipe, it is no more possible in this stage. A lack of evidence about their argument (read: all data is lost, etc...) forces us to believe Papaya on their word. This makes it senseless to be discussing on countering the wipe-idea. It is a fact we will have to start all over so we should all start thinking out how to act best in order to evolve the server and bring it back asap to the state it was before in spite of all losses the wipe caused to us personally. Put aside anger and frustrations, there is nothing to do about it anymore... We did it before so we can do it again!
    I hope we will have you all on board again and we will all have our noses pointed in the same direction with a few priorities to fulfill.
    So prepare for a few loooong, sweaty, angry, mad and crazy but also funny, heroic and nostalgic months and maybe even years. Let unity and friendships prevail. Prepare your weapons such as coffee machines, fridges filled with pizza's and energy drinks and make sure to have your micro-wave your first aide!  ... hope I succeeded on exhilarate you all a bit more now...

    If the data was lost, how does Papaya know what tier 'founder' reward (based on total levels) to give out?
