I hope they market it as a new game, or new server so new members will feel like they will be on a fair playing field, I know when I try to look for new games, I always focus on newer ones so I am not shadowed over by others that are already to strong.
just my opinion. I really hope we get a decent player base. vets or new, doesn't matter now, we just need numbers

As for many of the prey hungry pirates who are posting their excitement for a restart here I have the impression that they fail to understand a very basic truth: you never have a thriving population of predators if their isnt enough prey. This is very sad because there are easily over a dozen of games where you can PvP all day and night to one game where you have such a vast variety of goods and items that can be crafted.
Frozen has not responded to something i said that jtw would have jumped on right away
Everyone makes prepare and planning and maybe when the game start all the planning could be wrong.

Tbh I wouldnt miss pirates if there werent any. I know they need to make money as does anybody else. I would give them some free tuition on trading and crafting as i did free for many many newbies over the years :)
However, I was only excited about pirates as long as I was a newbie. After a few months of playing I was always having a stack of fine tributes in my inventory - I crafted them myself and passed them on free to my company mates. Also I had learned to avoid pirates so I didnt need to use my tributes on them so often.
I just dont like non-consentual PvP. Also I dont understand what fun there is in looting people who are ill prepared for battle. To me a pirate is like a schoolkind feeling strong after bullying kids that are a few years younger. Much different if people enjoying PvP show their prowess in ESF or battle campaigns.
That I can respect.
That is just my view and opinion on the matter of piracy.
Piracy is part of the game, there are alot of ways to deal with them,so what s the problem? They are some kind of gods in the game? Wtf?
They cant be sunk? Haha!
Is there a rule somwhere saying that they will won every time? Think again.
They cant to catch you? No. They can become the hunted ones np.

Yeh I knew too.
But I just wanted to show everyone else :)
I presume others will have a similar amount of startup ducats. Inflation will be big on day 1.
Likely.
IMO it also means that you are abusing the system and that people like you are the ones that will force papaya to try to ban any alts at all.
You and others with a ridiculous amount of alts will already make the game massively financially imbalanced.
haha you will have 3b and nothing to spend it on for ages. nor will you be able to utilize that amount of money early on since there will be no goods to buy and no goods from cities even close to that amount.
you can help the community and invest it though, that is what you could do, but probably won't.
unless new players buy items and you offer them 100m cheques for those high class items and wait till the game evolves enough to where you can then sell them for a profit, your just like the rest of us haha.
not even POs to buy to boost crafting skills to take that advantage..
a sad world when you have 3B and nothing to buy with it :(

I understand your POV but we have 2 more weeks of no game, I wanted to be prepared to get the best jump if possible on the start. if they change it so much that my plan will not work then I will remake a plan, but if that's the case then no info on the internet will be available to make such a plan due to the changes created, so we will all be flying blind.
what if they made all waters hostile..
what if they made all waters safe till a certain development...
what if they already set ports to max development..
all things considered I want to have a plan in place for my main character regardless if we can have alts or not so I can follow my own guide and not be ill prepared. :)

Finally, I searched for
"best pc MMORPG ocean sailing adventure games of all time"
Uncharted Waters was almost no where to be found, but it did turn up on one site:

and thankfully here is what they said: See next comment
Here is what they said about UWO
2) Uncharted Waters Online
Out of all the games on this list, if you’re looking for the most robust,
polished, complex, and focused high-seas experience in an MMO, then Uncharted
Waters Online is the game for you without a doubt. It doesn’t have the
flashy visuals or additional features of some other games on this list, but it
has the most intricate and deep naval options out of them all. Many fans of the
game compare it to taking the popular EVE Online
and putting everyone on the sea instead of in space, and that’s pretty close to
what you’ve got here.

Gameplay is generally split into three different buckets: Trade, Adventure,
Read more atand Maritime. Trading encompasses everything from crafting, to shipping resources,
establishing trade routes, and what seems like an endless number of other
possibilities. Adventuring covers your standard questing stuff, with a
sea-themed flavor such as treasure hunting, finding artifacts, and finding new
areas. Maritime gameplay offers a lot of customization for making your ships
unique. Uncharted Waters is dated, rough around the edges, and has another
steep learning curve, but it makes up for it. There’s ton of depth here and a
super friendly community, so if you want to be a pirate or ship captain and
you’re looking for a game that caters to that exact type of theme, then this is
easily the game for you.

I really think that beginners need to receive more, almost
instant, rewards and recognition, for darn near anything they accomplish in
trade, adventure, or maritime at the beginning of the game. Maybe even a
Papaya Play online coach should be assigned to a new player, so that they get
their questions answered quickly and easily before too much frustration sets
in.
Appreciate anyone's suggestions or comments.

We can all help to keep UWO interesting to new players and that will invigorate long time players as well.
