Wow, I post a reply stating that getting hostile because the announcement wasn't on the forums (when it clearly states and has always stated that any announcements would be on Facebook First) gets me called a Douchebag by @ConcernedTraveler

The anger runs deep, and is entirely misdirected here. I post civil replies, and get back name calling and rude comments. @ConcernedTraveler: maybe you should look in the mirror, and stop calling others names. Just an observation....

Well I did as much as I could to be ready New Windows 7 Laptop, I was to install it and the launcher appears to look for the server.

This forum is discussion point for players to voice their concerns, problems and thanks.

No one should be afraid of offending any one, If their post is with in reason.

I totally agree more information is best and hopefully that will happen now.

I got to try to take a nap now, because it is not just all nighters we be pulling in this game at the start, but all weekers with minimal sleep.

I'm with Clem on this, as this individual is a GM. It's their job to understand and action the problems and issues not only with the game but also its players and Papayas customers. This person is a representative of Papaya and not your mate or colleague they don't need to 'find their feet' they need to get cracking on building the respect of and a rapour with the community here.

I kinda agree with clems, sure people left UWO for their reasons to do with piracy not forfilling their goals/dreams however from what was said on OGP forums they also left for new games. Sure they might return to UWO for a brief time, but how long before the said players that the changes that were made aimed at pulling them back leave again?

Obviously we do not know how many will stay and who will move on, even I'm unsure at this moment in time but will see what the changes are and take it from there. BUT I do not like what I'm hearing of nearly half the players that we had are now leaving for what I think will be a handfull of people returning.

I also wonder how many will still be here next week, next month maybe 3 months from now.

I realise that Papaya might not want to answer this, but I will ask it anyway. How long have Papaya Play signed up for with Koei to host UWO? I ask this as this MIGHT just make UWO stable enough for myself and others to invest again in the game.

All we want is some information on the game we all love, but all we have gotten from pineappleplay is silence. They take everything away from us and tell us nothing. Look I just want to play the game I have come to love over the years, and I'm not impressed with lack of communication with the community. How hard is it to post officially and let us all know what is what, I think we deserve that much at least.

So how about you guys COME ON! and post some anger here in hopes of getting them to post something official, because I find their lack of communication to be very concerning. We have suffered though one bad management company after another and this looks no different.

So how about some goddamn Information. you have been monitoring us then you know what we want to know.

One day you will all have to get over it, but I doubt very much that you will be satisfied with whatever reason you are given, if you are given one.

Papaya owe you nothing - they have had none of your money.

We are all just potential freeloaders who, given many of the posts, never intend to pay anything.

As for wanting the IP address, spot the wanabe DOS hacker.

The game will start in a couple of hours. Give it a go and see what it is like. For many of you it will be the first time you have had to level up without help. Enjoy it. That is what the game is about.

If you want to swan around in the end game without any effort try Victory Century it has lots of servers (including non-PvP) and you can buy your way to the endgame.

@ArchMihawk the installer of the game was broken, and it was fixed. The game starts but does nothing more than a connection error because server will be up until today at 4pm pst, so its not trouble for now in the adresses, it was very clear that service was not started yet.

My point is I agree with the OP, the rest of the thread got me more agitated, and I don't think we should all just roll over and be quiet about our frustration. I don't care if it's productive. And even though it's just a game and even though the things I lost were virtual, many hours of my real life efforts and even a nice chunk of my real money has just been negated with no concern for my feeling on the matter. And if that, and the underhanded way it all went down, isn't bad enough we are left to stew here in the dark for 3 weeks without even the decency of taking 5 measley minutes to humor us with some details on the new changes.

So yeah, God forbid somebody's not blowing Papayaplay since they fixed their broken installer and gave us a time for the launch. And maybe you like to move on and be positive after you get porked but some people are quite aggravated and in no hurry to forget about it.

This is literally like some kind of demented virtual Stockholm syndrome experiment. Your virtual persona gets robbed of everything. Then left powerless and stewing in the dark of this forum with the other victims for three weeks. And when the perpitrators of this act finally show up and say two words the majority of you get agitated at anyone who treats them less than graciously.

The one and only statement on Facebook, after 3 weeks of checking it like idiots, is that the download was available and the server goes live at 4pm PST. That's only one of the 3 concerns mentioned by Sundogg97. Regarding system compatibility and the 32 bit issue there was much more details on the forum and direct communication from a GM. And no information anywhere about the changes. So I found it stupid that you had to act like he is looking in the wrong place for info. Granted he is less than eloquent in conveying his complaints. But acting like a ponce and picking apart only one of his 3 points he brought up (which he happened to overlook being on Facebook) is weak and needed to be addressed. And the condescending tone with which you carried it out and all your little capital letters reeks of douche-baggery. So you remain suspect.

And I like calling people names once in a while. It's fun. You should give it a whirl sometime. Stop being such a ponce :)

So @concernedtraveler I look to the positive side once papaya have “porked” me.
But there is 2 things you are missing.
1 we have both been porked, but you are miserable and stressed where as I’m not.

2 have papaya actually done anything wrong? Would you have been happier if ogp just went bankrupt and we lost our toons and the game? At least they are keeping it going and making improvements.

End of the day you blowing off steam and getting stressed only makes things worse for you!
And those of us that have to share a game with you!

No matter how much you point the finger or stamp your feet...your stuff is gone, and gone forever.

I’m sorry for you if it affects you so badly but shouting at someone is not going to bring it back.

There is so much negativity in this forum and soon to be on the game that it’s the attitudes that risk spoiling the game more than the pirate changes.

I see you have taken to a bit of name calling on here too.

I don’t believe that’s your style because your posts earlier in the month were calm and sensible, so maybe you should take a break away from reading the forums for a while.

1. I complain when I get porked
2, Papaya wiped everything and left us sitting in the dark for 3 weeks and I still don't know what these changes are exactly. So I find that less than favorable to say the least and certainly not right. Essentially this is a business and we are existing customers. I'm not going to pander to them for making a business move that they obviously believe will make them money. They are not running UWO to be charitable and I think they made it perfectly clear that the existing customers are not their priority.

Blowing off steam is all I can do in this situation. I did intentionally stop reading and commenting in the forums here for a while when I realized it was going to serve no purpose whatsoever and was getting me more and more wound up.

I sincerely apologise if my comments or ranting is have had a negative effect on other players. I have no problem with anyone here and never have. OGP and Papayaplay are the architects of my tribulation.

It does really bug me to see so many people letting go of the righteous indignation so soon. We can't really do anything about what happened but I see no reason to just roll over and take it quietly and certainly no point in acting appreciative about it.

And while I am still disgusted with what happened and there is still very genuine statements I am trying to make, I did try to entertain myself a bit in this thread by going a little over the top with the dramatization, name calling, and using fun words like "porked". Not my usual style. Childish and a troll move I admit. But just trying to keep myself mildly amused somehow while stating my aggravating case.

Hopefully channeling my rage into grinding like a madman will distract me from arguing these points in the forums now that the server is up again. Hopefully I get my toons out of school and manage to start having a little fun in game again. And hopefully these undisclosed changes they have made prove to be a balanced solution and are good for the game and we all get back to having fun.

If so you will see me return to having intelligent conversations again. If not you will unfortunately see me devolve into a raging rabble-rousing troll. I will not go quietly my friend. I will rage against anything that doesn't sit right with me and I support anyone else who choses to speak out for what they think is not right. And I will not sit by quietly when people are trying to silence or marginalize those objecting to being treated with disregard.

And GM Benya, no offence to you personally. I'm sure you are just trying to do your job the way your bosses want you to. And I hope you can understand where myself and all the other players aggravated by loosing all of our progress and getting no information on the changes are coming from and take it with a grain of salt.

Anyway, this is it for me in the forums for a while till I see what the game holds.

I understand the technical aspect of needing to reset everything, but the blow to my memories and fondness, (and yes the literal thousands of dollars I've spent on this game over the years) and specially protected items and ships is what kills it for me. That hurts. A lot. To lose all of that progress. All those years. My ships. One ship in particular I'd kept for all these years as a literal headstone of memory to Joesephis who passed away. A good friend of mine and the ship he created and that I'd preserved is now gone. That really ****ing hurts my heart to lose that.

The compensation needs to be done for the physical money lost yes. But that damage to my heart can't be repaired with a silly Founder's box or a "Sorry, so sad, too bad, keep playing please!" Like it makes me outraged and the grief is overwhelming. I've had catastrophic losses only twice in my life from places I've invested my time and money in among many other qualifiers, and this is the third. I'm 31 years old now and this freaking hurt me to lose. I'm mad at this seemingly indifferent wipe to our money, time and memories. In the two previous times I've had catastrophic loss, the community from it has never recovered and has ultimately died. I don't have the strength in these shoulders and this heart to rebuild EVERYTHING that was ruined. It hurts too much and my grief is too heavy.

@clemsonfan is a long time friend of mine and I'm in agreement with him that we need freaking answers and communication on what hair-brained reason it was to have us lose all of our money and hard fought memories. A simple shiny new website and 'sorry' isn't good enough.
