Hello all.
I decided to wait and not play the game from the relaunch. I wanted to see which direction and how the game will progress with papaya. I did not like the reset because of “ technical difficulties” explenation that was given. I thought it was kind of insulting to the older players of the game who have been through tranfers from one server to another before and also to some folks who know a bit about programming/coding. I collect the rewards from my accounts hopefully one day i might be back. As far as i can see the pvp aspect of the game has not improved and the economy of the game is similar to what it was. The usual: you are dumb, no you are stupid continue on the forums instead of people actually trying to help the game. Economy forum should be seperate and PvP forum should be seperate as i really dont see how a trader can have an opinion on piracy/bounty hunting or vice versa. I dont see the reason why people need to insult on the forum as it can be done ingame much easier. A forum is to build/help the game. I will play a bit more around Christmas time to give a bit of a try.

Potato, it's because some feel that anyone who has a differing opinion is automatically "stupid". That's not on the game though, that's just some peoples immaturity.

The PvP aspect is fine. It's not "great", but it never will be. Regardless of if it's made easier to arm traders, or if it's made easier to strip equipment from players/pirates/traders, there will ALWAYS be a portion of the community who thinks it's either too easy to be farmed, or think it's too hard to farm others. There really seems to be no win/win solution. That, again, isn't really on the game, that's on the community. This is a game that has a lot of people who just want to adventure, or just want to trade, with no fighting at all, and then others who want to fight all the time. It really seems impossible to blend PvP and PvE to the point that both groups love the mechanics. I've yet to play an MMO since I started playing them 20 years ago in '97 that has made both groups completely happy. So, there will ALWAYS be some complaining about some aspect of any game that tries to meld the the PvE and PvP communities.

As to the economy, yeah, he Founders Rewards Checks and launching with all the updates kind of FUBAR'd that. It's actually kind of funny though, because most are cash poor (aren't liquid). Yet they want to put ridiculous price tags on everything. Few actually have the ducats to buy any big ticket items outright. Right now, it's people trading expensive items for other expensive items, with a very small portion of the community actually having the cash to buy most of it out-right.

Ignore the trolls here, they don't represent the community. Just a small, yet vocal minority.

i know a game just right for you.. SEA BASS FISHING.. you can sail there without using Blue flags.. there are no pirates too... you can enjoy fishing with comfort.. hahaha

You know you little jackass. Cause I don't agree with the way you want it to go for pvp players I am a whiner. Punks like you is what ruin this game. How many people in the past quit because of stupid people like you thinking farming people making runs in to waters that are not safe even if they are doing quest and they lost the quest item and oh wait lets make it where people that are not looking for pvp to be farmed to get our kicks. That is a form of abuse but hey in your all sick minds it is your fun before every one else and if you all that are not into pvp I don't care I matter before every one else's attitude which hurts this game more then anything. But nine of us no anything cause we are stupid in your eyes and deserve to be farmed for you all to get your jollies

the community your talking about is your community of your own alts. the reason why you dont want blue flags is because you use a lot of alts it would be a huge loss on your profits. if i am one of the admins ill take a look on how many aceman there is as a username.. you may have labeled your usernames aceman1 - 39 to remember whose done and not. i use blue and it dont have much impact on my profits.. the funny thing is your not even doing PVP whats makes you have a say on PVP?

you deserved to be labeled stupid.. quit using community of traders and adventures. i dont belong in your community of Idiots. who uses lame excuses to farm ducats to hearts content.

again just play SEA BASS FISHING Granpa,, it suits your gaming style.. or just play BARBIE. . hahaha

I do listen to ideas.

In addition, i also provide ideas, raise concerns, criticise wrong doings and cry for justice.

So far i have debated with many of you constructively how a sub based model might work if we all support it, how free loading and multi and whaling and p2w hurt the game.

I question the longevity of Papaya because all kinds of questionable if not wrong doings they have made so far.

I pity the stupidity of those who think wipe is good, while feeling sorry for lots of veteran departure.

I doubt the quality of “new players”, lot of which i actually know of from other servers, who come here to farm and sell gold, since relaunch seems a good opportunity. The recent emerging gold seller ads reinforced my belief on this point.

I fully support the iron fist approach to battle illegal multi.

I wish a healthy and prosperous uwo environment, but it must be run by an ethical publisher, not a money grabber who do not care about players.

Aceman89’s post count is more than 833 now. He never provides any ideas but saying multi is ok, wipe is ok, Papaya wrong doing is ok, and defame whoever hold opposite opinions. He almost replied that mmediately on everything he disagrees, but in a very negative way by flaming.

Look you both can go to hell. if I use any alts it is only one for storage or when I grind sewing or when I build ships and go a head and they can check my ip address and make you both look stupid. First of all how many merchants have you heard say farming white flag players is the one thing they are against, but hey that makes it where you start saying use blue flags or take the punishment and most of the ones who want this server to be strictly pvp said merchants should be repeatedly hit to they have no ducats or any items left to plunder. Nice way to keep players in the game. Take all they have then the pirate laughs as that person quits. and then there is only pirates left and they can pvp all they want on empty seas. But guess that suits them just fine to ruin peoples experience and make them quit and not worry about any one else and yet if we don't agree or say we love the fact you can hit us and decide to hit them again. But it is all good people that pvp want to make UWO a pvp game but you all forget pvp is a small part of the game which should co exist with the merchants and adventures. but nope they worry about their sick sense of humor

i think this game is max 15 % pvp and forcing trader or ADV to fight is not an option to inprove the game at all. blue flag is an option yes but we need to remember this game is a free to play so blue flag will never be a real option since its a pay item

surely many char will be gone.. because they will not be able to abuse ducat farming ever . but many veteran and good players will be back for sure.. thats the only effective solution.

24H hour before strike back is too longue for pirate i agree maybe but this reset to 1 hour it will be better

Free 2 play let you experience the game before paying. Any players who do not plan to pay deserve to be banished from this game.

And here those who plan not to even pay $1 per day wish the game changed so that not only they do not pay, but also for those who paid already (pirates) not able to enjoy their career, ie. plundering and stealing from victims.

If you do not plan to pay a cent, then be ready to become the entertainment of paying players, so that at least you contribute by retaining paying players.

Freeloaders are not welcome!

I've been in game-worlds where only the paying-customers are left. They feel dead. No one's interested in a newbie. Developers lose interest in producing new content.

I get where you're coming from @Katanauwo and I understand the sentiment - 'cos I see you as a person who wants UWO to succeed. (Which isn't to say I agree with what you say - just that I'm listening).

What I would say is this. Until we get into the business accounts of Papaya and see who spends the money and how that money filters through the game, then most of your arguments are based on speculation. The fact is only the publisher really knows what's going on with the financial model for the game. They don't publish those accounts 'cos it's sensitive information.

Some games have a subscription model, some have a premium-service model, some are free-to-play. different models work for different games. There isn't a one-size-fits-all solution (like @JustToTalk thinks).

Unless we were industry-insiders we wouldn't really know what's going on. Until then it's just opinion and speculation.

True, different games use different models.

It is healthy to have a lot of free players knowing that they are the potential pay players one day.

What is not healthy is to have professional long term free loaders , such as scammers / newbie predators / ridiculous mass farmers, while not having paying customers in large quantity at all.

I do not know the magic bullet to fix everything. I see Papaya is not the right publisher UWO needs. They’d better let other worthy publishers to run UWO.

You have been very hard on Papaya. Have they done everything perfect? No.
Will they get better? I don't know.
Did they do a wipe to make money off us? Of course. No money no game. And obviously OGP was not making enough profit to continue the game so it seems that Papaya could not start off in that position.
You are pissed at papaya for this. It's understandable.
But had they not tried to make the game profitable for them they would not have agreed to host the game and it would be gone.......i am guessing there is not a long line of hosts waiting to pick up an old outdated game that is not making enough profit from us.
My guess is line ended behind papaya.
Do we all love it? No. Would we rather the game was gone? No.
Unless you know of a potential host or are able to host the game yourself, you might as well get over it.
It's all we got.

I think they enjoy complaining more than they ever enjoyed the game.
It’s the same old stuff day after day.

If everything was suddenly restored to them they would just complain that they had to live without it for a few months and now they have already started new characters.

I agree people instead of complaining should do what the rest of have to do. Move on and make new memories and leave the past behind and just enjoy doing the game like they did when they first started if they can't then they should move on to something new
