Cheque handling fee is 10% now

I didnt notice it until now but it has been changes from 2% to 10% since last update. This certainly impede market efficiency and makes all of us much worse off. For example, transaction of 100m item will be distorted. Since we obviously prefer 100m cheque to 100m cash, both buyer and seller will never concede 100m line (concession means extra 10m burden). Ive also seen a man who bought 7 SSIP for 91m from me and then asked me to sell more. Thanks to him, I finally noticed it.
I believe this is deeply related to release of Clermont. This ultimate cargo ship certainly accelerates inflation and I understand that tax rate raise is a vaild counter-measure to it. Nanban/Spice traders could accept new fee but not all of us earn from pure trading. Many of us earn money from plundering, making furniture, building ships and so on. They suffer heavy burden but gain almost nothing from Clermont.
This is really ridiculous. IMO, Papaya should not have released Clermont as it is. They should cut the cargo of this big ugly fat fellow and set handling fee back to 2% for our economy.

If the game operation is so successful, why do we not see any additional staffing and customer service from Papaya’s end? Or maybe afterall Papaya’s plan is to make short term gain before ditching this game?

Exceed r20 with skills?
:)
I’m the past you could max refine and then use equips and it would still be capped at r20.
Now your can go to r25
It’s not all skills tho, like I believe you can’t get r25 sb.
But you can get things like r25 melee and cannon skills for example
I would just rather think about everyone sailing around with the 300m on them.
Its allmost very hard now to see any one with out the steamshipas there alts/aides ship
Whats the one thing meny have said over every change they they liked that other didnt ooooo ya
Adapt or quit
Wow!
Although nanban is boring as hell is damn easy money.
How you can complain about that I don’t know.
And he basically said kudos to multi’s...does that mean your one?
I agree the 10% is silly but your claiming is pricing you out? What the hell.
For comparison I’m a pirate in game.
I sail all the time, literally all the time.
I prob use 1 world or empress tarot per day (10m)
I prob use around 2/3m worth of vigor food per day (that’s if I’m not involved in a battle)
My on seas tax (sailors wage and provisions) comes to around 2-4m per day
I use VoC daily (not sure total cost, but not free)
So let’s say it costs me around 14m per day to pirate
Item plunder is gone for now. And I often give back the goods I take.
I’d say I take money wise 7-15m from players in total and that’s if I catch about 10
So I’d say take your 3 clarmonts and deal with the 10% charge cos you still got it cushty.
I will prob never deal with the 10% charge cos I’m never gonna make enough to need a cheque.
I generally don't buy much from other players, but the 10% fee just intensifies that thought. I don't do Nanban and have no desire to go through that again. I also don't need 10b ships either.
I don't like it...but I can still play the game while ignoring merchant chat. To me this game isn't about who is the richest, but rather who has fun.
my god are you ever uninformed! FYI St. Patrick's day is a Christian holiday not just an Irish one. As Christianity is all over the world, It is celebrated all over the world including Asia! Yes St. Patrick was an Irish saint but his death is remembered everywhere. They have huge parades and celebrations in Japan, Singapore and so on for St. Patrick's day. Assuming and making accusations that countries don't participate in celebrations like that is ignorant and even racist. Don't you even realize how large Christianity is in Asia? You probably also believe that they don't celebrate Christmas there either! I can't believe how RUDE you are! Instead of spending your time playing video games and making dumb comments like that maybe you should try picking up a book and do some reading instead!
KOEI name comes up but papaya can add game content. if it was just KOEI
doing it then why isn't there a sailors bottles or the recycle thing
like in OGP ? simple KOEI gives OGP / papayascammers the rights to use
this game but they can add content to it.
You really need to look at things with more perspective (not that i would expect that from that earlier statement). UWO is a massive program that took years to develop let alone play test. In the past (OGP and earlier) maybe Koei had deals where they could add their own content, however those companies had the program and focused on it much more intently. OGP staff had characters and spent time learning the huge picture that UWO world is. This is why they would put their own stuff in and manipulate the code. But this corruption is one the the issues that lead to the down fall of OGP.
Now we have this new host who's only even had the program for the past 5months now (3 weeks down for transfer, one week notification), but you think they are experienced enough to even know what content to add to the game let alone manipulate the code? How much time do you think they've even had to even play the game to see what it's about to even know what to add? Don't forget they also have 5 other games they host which they would also have to spend time maintaining and playing. I think you overestimate this situation. That was the whole purpose of the wipe!
Papaya came into having to host the game at the last minute, if you were there for those last days on OGP you would know that. Not fully knowing the game and not wanting to deal with all of OGP's hacks and mods they insisted from Koei that they get a new server, this is why we had to start over even with developments. Why would they even want to get into tampering with the code for an out of date mmo? If it was that easy then they could've fixed the plunder bug but they can't! That why they have to wait for Koei. The cash shop is provided to them from Koei to generate income for the game, but as a francise they would have to pay a portion of that over to Koei. Maybe papaya has a small data base to pick and switch up some items, but i don't think they have much flexibility. Why would they want to devote that much time to an out of date mmo anyways? This is what the CA's are for in the game, papaya can learn about the game play though them to understand what content is needed, they in turn can make suggestions to Koei, which the changes come out with the patches. I think you put to much stock in papaya involvement here. They are a host for the game plain and simple, anyone who followed all the drama during the change over can see that and understand that as at first it wasn't even sure if a host picked up the game after OGP.
Think what you want, but 'truth' is usually the simplest answer. That's why most people cant' believe it's true and will continue to live in denial.Like statement i opened this rebuttal with... "You really need to look at things with more perspective"
And to those statements to prove someone wrong is silly. opinion means nothing in a court of law, cold hard facts are needed that can be backed up.
If they did then I actually have less respect for them. because I do not believe that the fix coincidentally came about at the time the ticket would of been released, they would of had the fix already and just made us wait.
When it’s an error effecting a type of gameplay negatively it should be fixed as soon as the fix is available.
time the ticket would of been released, they would of had the fix
already and just made us wait.
that's my point, they had to wait for the update because it's Koei's update. If they were experts with the code and could manipulate it themselves then they could've fixed it right away, but they dont'. This is a what? 14 year old game with a small niche player base? why would they spend their time dealing with old code especially when they also have other games to deal with? This explains why they don't really respond to us either, because we are a small community and it's really only a small handful of us that even use these forums. They are not going to listen to the rants of a few players. If our population goes up, and as time goes on and more of us speak up THEN maybe they will pay more attention to this game. It's not as if we have like 1m users in this game like some other mmo's have. UWO is small peanuts now in the gaming world.
