All that grinding and playing was not done while papaya was hosting the game.
Did papaya have to wipe the data? ABSOLUTELY!
Yep it's true. Without the wipe UWO would be NO WHERE to play anymore.
OGP was not making enough money on the game anymore to make sense keeping it. Just passing a game in that condition would obviously not work any simpleton could see that.
The main reason that OGP was not making enough profit is that too many players already had all their equipment and ships and were no longer buying from OGP.
Anyone that was not spending at least 50 bucks a month on the game only has themselves to blame for the wipe.
Thank God Papaya took over the game! I still look forward to playing it.

buying from OGP.
That's not true, i'm sure almost every vet was spending money on a monthly basis. Even after getting your final build on a character with items and ships, you still need to keep spending on renewing all your storage expanders. Plus there's always regular sales on items like npc's, ssip's etc, and even sailor bottles. By the end of gama i had met many 'vets' from the game and would hear stories of their regular spending, and they were spending A LOT more than $50 per month.
The reason that OGP went under has already been established, that because of the corruption in the company and the misappropriation of monies caused the company to go under. They had already lost the licenses to all their games, UWO just happened to be the last one to go. But after it was anounced the close of OGP there was no new host for weeks then at the last minute papaya took over. Back with OGP, yes Koei did let them have more control over the code of the game. OGP changed alot of the code on their own and added a lot of their own content. Koei has learned from their mistake and now keeps control over content for the game. When papaya took over they had NO CHOICE but to wipe the server, they didn't want and shouldn't have to had deal with all OGP's hacks and cracks in the code. They did the same thing for La Tale when they took it over, they had to start fresh for the same reasons. Plus some of the customizing that OGP had done probably conflicted with the new updates for the age of revolution. That's why the server is called "Maris" now. Gama still probably exists but it's a dead server now that can't be updated. This also explains how they were able to 'link' our accounts for the founders rewards, the data is/was still there but it just wasn't compatible in it's current state. This is why we were told that the game would continue but then at the last minute it was anounced that the server would be reset (they probably tried to salvage the character data but couldn't make it work). Also having a wipe would generate quick immediate cash flow to papaya for starting up the game as players would have to spend if they wanted to 'accelerate' their stats back again.
Cocoa need to understand that she wasn't singled out in the reset, we ALL were affected. But we were given a choice... either play the game out again for minimal to no cost or spend money and speed develop their character back again. No body is forcing you to do anything we all have a choice as to which style of play we want. But know this... This is Maris server NOT gama, even if any of us went to one of the asian servers we'd STILL have to start from scratch again so this server is NO different. This is a different server than gama period...
Even if Papaya did not have to reset the data and did it anyways I would not be mad.
They need to have the game profitable to bother hosting it. I am assuming that we all have spent more with the reset than we would have otherwise. I know I have.
@purplepirate My previous post was more of a swipe at those that do not contribute anything other than their complaining.
