I listen to Sailing by Christopher Cross, Come Sail Away by Styx, Sail On by the Commodores, Harbor Lights by the Platters, Don't Rock the Boat by Hughes Corporation, Ride Captain Ride by Blues Image, Brandy by Looking Glass and Break my Stride by Matthew Wilder.
Today I hit the big 60. (UGH) I am old, and feel even older. What does a 60 year old lady get for her birthday? - A new tall toilet, installed, and flip down toilet rails (A gift for both of us) . . . "Help!, I'm on the toilet, and I can't get up!" (Crap on, crap off . . . The Crapper. << sorry, you all are too young to get it.)
So here is a Feel Good One-Hit Wonder Song, from 1981, when I was 23:
Chas Jankel - Glad To Know You
"And thus it seems come rain and shine The patience still unfolds Said the Pike upon the Angler's line: "I wish that I'd been told"
I wish . . . that I'd . . . been told, Glad to know you, and you're very welcome Pleased to meet you"
Wow, Wes got the playlist! . . . Love you too CPC, but, I have over 4,000 Funk, Club, House, Go Go, Soul, Techno, Electronica, Dance, Beat Box . . . I have rocked parties and mixed, even in my old age, and made young and old dance. . . but I don't have a single song with the N-Word, or Cussing; I don't know your music.
Lol Only the Cardi B songs are a bit explicit the rest are calm tame no curses lol. I have a theory on music as time changes the delivery of music changes but the subject matter remains the same… dancing, drinking, smoking, having sex or pimpin, stories from perspective (violence, drugs, relationship issues, money, depression and social issues).
So to me its all the same stuff like the song PusherMan by Curtis Mayfield is the exact same as the rap song Grinding by the Clipse… its all same story just different story tellers. Even different genres too like alot of country I heard have alot of the same subject matter as rap… there's really no "Your music" just music in general at least to me
None the less I'll replace cardi B with a less controversial pick…
Azealia Banks- Luxury | Big City money making in seville
… I have no songs for the haters with no curses CCP sorry lol XD
I listen to lots of music and even some new stuff, and cursing as such is not a deal breaker. But I think it's a lot more creative to slip the curse words in when you're not expecting it rather than to make it the main lyrics.
Slight tangnt... if I play music on Itunes or anything else, whenever my UWO window is on top the sound gets a muffled quality to it and the volume reduces a bit. Is there any way to stop this happening?
I try to mix in sailing, historic or old time sounding music into my playlist, so thanks to those who gave me more to add. From my list a couple seem almost too perfect for a sailing game - less dramatic music with very definite sailing ship themes, like:
"There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbor, tomorrow for old England she sails . . ." The Last Farewell
or
"All hands on deck, we've run afloat, I heard the captain cry. Explore the ship, replace the cook, let no one leave alive." Salty Dog
and maybe more for land battling
"Conquistador, your stallion stands in need of company, and like some angel's haloed brow, you reek of purity." Conquistador
The rest I put in my mix are maybe have to vague a connection to sailing history - wouldn't want this post to get too long.

I don't listen to music because I only really know two tunes one is 'God Save the Queen' (the British national anthem and the other one isn't).
Whenever I think of sailing the things that come to mind are 'Sailing By' link below.
Which is used for the BBC shipping weather forecast (also a good listen)

another is 'Red Sails in the Sunset' (pick your own version so many people have recorded it).

Speaking of video game soundtracks,
this seawater-themed soundtrack comes to mind:
