UWC Ships still worth their value?

With the new SB patch are the UWC ships still worth what people ask for them?
Usually the UWC versions only have marginally better stats but I doubt that's worth it in most cases, comparing a FS ship ~100m to a UWC version ~20b.

Lets discuss :)

    The UWC ship has lower level requirements.

    Sometimes the optional skills are also better.

    They also have a bonus when used as mat ships for grading.

    Some UWC ships dont have FS versions - eg. we dont have the ornaments needed to build Foo- or Dragon ships.

    Interesting observation. With it so easy to get maritime levels now, that factors in as well.

    Yeah, battle levels are relatively easy to get. The people that choose for a UWC version because of the levels usually have enough money to spend on those ships anyway.

    The skills are a pretty solid choice to go for a UWC version, but I personally wouldn't pay such excessive money for a skill.

    And I mean the ships that can actually be build ingame :p

    Most uwc ships are not worth their value (although there a few exceptions). Those hoping to sell them for lots of in-game ducats will try to sell them to a player who doesn't know better. That is sad.

    The new overmodding mechanic is good for the game; it makes it much more fair. The uwc ships still have an edge, but it is definitely not the overpowering advantage it used to be. Of course, even more powerful ships can eventually come out, but comparable non-cash ships can and should be able to be built to compensate.

    Well, the source of UWC ships must also be considered, and the prices they're originally presented at are insane. I'd normally say that for every good & price is it's own customer, but these ships really aren't that good and it's only the addiction that is feeding this, sort of like with drugs: they by far don't cost as much to synthesize/grow as the price that's being asked for them.

    Personally I see UWC ships as an option and a Luxury, and not a must.

    And I think it is balanced and as it should be. It they ever became a must then that is highly P2W and there would be no point in actually playing anymore.

    Compare this in a game of Chess, whether you have more money or not doe snot change the stregth and capabilities of your chess pieces or the rules of the game. It may help you pay a better teacher to aquire better skill to give you an edge if you like but the game is the same for all.

    If you could use money to replace your Pawns with Queens, then there would not be any point for anyone else to play with you. ;) You broke the game.

    Also, I actually do like the factthat Ships are offerend on some Chest in UWC shop.

    Back with OGP I had suggested this several times as a player and CA to GM's etc..butthey were hesitent and only wanted the Bottles and Gambling...which I do not like or aprove of personally.

    It is good to see Papaya having these, albeit to be fair I do not know if OGP introduced this after my Departure. Yet it was originally my suggestion ;) but it was being faught against by some other CAs at the time.. too much Politics...anyways, it is in the past. Now is now, lets enjoy it :)

    Technically, many UWC ships are far superior to FS ships even though some ships ie MCG have same stats as FS ships except more mods and lower req'ed to use.

    All UWC ships have grading bonus if used as mat ships.

    Speaking for myself only, no, they are not worth the ridiculous prices people ask for UWC ships.  I have better things to do with my time than spend it grinding 10's of billions of ducats.  But that is just me.  There are plenty of folks who choose to do exactly that and if that's how they want to play then I support their choice 100%.  But it's not for me.  Also, I get a certain satisfaction from building, modding and grading my own ships.  I may have a  few less cargo or sail but that's okay.  The billions I save more than make up for that.  And it's nice when a ship you built yourself gets a compliment.  I was chased in my BTC halfway across the pacific once by a pirate.  I was blue flagging it so I had no idea what was up.  Finally they caught me and asked what kind of speed boosts I was running.  I had SSU 1 and oxfords going but that was it.  They said, "Wow.  That's a fast one you got there."  It just tickled the crap outta me.  But like I said, everyone has their own preference.
