What exactly are people doing now adays instead of the pepper trade? I haven't played since Papaya's launch week and I come back to find a completely deserted India. What gives?

    There is a big push right now for maritime. The new order of the prince really promotes that especially now with the new shipbuilding system and overmodding of ships.

    Look on the bright side. You should be able to corner the pepper market, and shouldn't be troubled by pirates.

    SHHHHHH!  Calicut and Ambon are dead; do Nanban and sit in Seville with the pirates and try to sell Nanban goods, whilst I make hundreds of millions with Pepper and Nutm . . . . I mean . . . yeah, Calicut is dead.
