AVG warns about virus(es).

My antivirus program (AVG) constantly warns me that different files/folders/etc. is containing virus(es), is this true, and how come players can play with these?

    I haven't had any warnings, and I run Malware Bytes as well as ESET anti-virus.

    One, your using AVG....not the most reputable antivirus. Not bashing you so please don't take it that way. If I were you I would get a better antivirus, even Microsoft Security Essential is better than AVG. ESET is awesome and well worth the small amount of cash for how safe it locks your PC down. Kaspersky is another great tool for an antivirus as well. Both of these can be matched with Bitdefender now in 2016. I have used all of them and was very pleased with them.

    @Cynnister Thank you for your helpful hints, Cynnister.  I use ESET and MalwareBytes.  Would any of the other anti-virus programs you mention be good additions for my PC, or would it/they be "overkill"?  Recently (since last Maint), my screen has been a doing weird thing (and only in Papayas Forums and web site).  When I'm looking at stuff there, it will often go to a full "gray screen".  I can resolve it easily with a refresh, but I'm concerned that I've acquired some sort of a bug.  Aside from that, it's just plain annoying.

    Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

    If that's what your using you should be fine. If you wanted to use another program like Bitdefender just to do another scan you can. And the screen thing is THEM. I have the same weird issue once and a while.

    What web browser are you using? Because if I use Google Chrome my screen will flicker once and a while. If I use the Edge browser it seems to be fine.

    @Cynnister I use Chrome, but I'm going to give Edge a shot.  Thanks for the advice!  

    Also, regarding login and disconnect problems, a Deka friend told me to try CCleaner and do registry cleaner, in case that helps anyone else.  Didn't do anything for me.  Hopefully they'll resolve login problems after next Maint.

    I don t use a virus Programm , the reason is i have Malewarebytes . My PC is virusfree and i don t used Java, Java is created for a lot of Virus .I don t used over 1year no Virus Programm, for a long time ago .The best virusprogramm is The USER from the PC . I used Firefox With NOSCRIPT. nothing else No JAVA ok That s all about Virusprogramm .

    @2xxstecherxx Some people don't have the technical know how though :P

    But yea, MalwareBytes is the best, unless you can learn to find and remove them yourself, but that does take a bit more knowledge than the average user.

    You are also correct with java, they use it like that and its known as a "Java driveby" This is when a virus is installed using a java script that you run thinking its to load, a game, video or whatever it maybe.

    Don't trust random stuff on the internet, unless it has an authentic company signature. don't follow links from youtube links either.

    wish they would teach this is school to be honest lol.

    You are 100% correct. I have tested something like this a long time ago with Windows XP and Windows 7. No antivirus, and only the free version of Malwarebytes. I did normal things, checked email from ONLY people I knew, and played a few F2P games nothing crazy. Surfed the net fine. Stay away from things you shouldn't or don't know about and your good.


    You are also correct, a lot of people lack some basic knowledge that everyone should have no a days. Back when I started on computers around 2001.....damn i'm old it was a learn as you go lol. Now, most of this is taught in school.
